Been awhile since I last posted. Here a few B&W images I've taken over the past year. Each starts out in color and then converted to B&W in Lightroom with some PP in Topaz Studio or NIK Silver Effect Pro. Comments and critiques are welcome.

Art is subjective - we like what we like. To each his own.
These aren't the same photo or you cropped the color one close in - Color has 2 windows and less distance from top of window to bottom of photo while B&W has 3 windows and more distance from top of window arch to bottom of photo.
Think you could bring up more detail in the color one especially in water using Lightroom and PS.
Personally, I like the B&W for all the detail brought out in the reflection.
Good luck with the wife.

Not a "birder" however while going throw files found these from recent shoot with friends. No identification since I don't know what they are beyond being birds. Like placing subject off center in post processing whenever possible. C&C welcome.

Had the opportunity this past weekend to go with several other photographers out in the desert to photograph fire breathing and spinning models. Unique opportunity.

It's not only Europe, but everywhere. Seems people have lost the ability to be cordial and considerate and respectful of one another. It's all about ME, MINE and I....and to hell with you. Now with the advent of the cell phone/camera & iPad it's even worse. Was at Swabacher Landing @ Grand Tetons one early morning and set up tripod and camera framing the shot I so wanted. Other photogs there were respectful of one another, the guy next to me moved his camera bag out of my view when I asked him politely. So just before the sun comes up the bus arrives and the hordes decend upon this iconic place. And as those with tripods who had been there at least 1 hour prior had the best places, this woman with her cell phone proceeds to step right in front of my tripod/camera and stands there waiting for the sun light up the Tetons. I cleared my throat and politely asked her to move as she blocking my view. Nothing - just continued to stand there. So I said in a not so polite tone "Hey lady, I was here first and you have to move Now". She looked at me and said I was being rude......replied "No you are the one being rude and disrespectful. We have been here for hours and you think it's OK to show up a few minutes beforehand and stand in front of other people's cameras and tripods. Well, it's not ... so move, NOW." So off she went in a huff. The guy next to me leaned over and said "God, I wish I had your balls and thank you for speaking up." If you chose to be inconsiderate of your fellow man, and photographers, then you deserve what you get. I find most photographers will ask others if they are in their shot before setting up. Sorry for your experience in Venice.

Went on the late morning photographer's ONLY tour with Adventureous Antelope Tours. A bit pricey but well worth it was group size is limited, they stop traffic inside canyon so you can get photos without people, give you settings and where to shoot, and help resolve camera problems, if possible, should they occur like happened to me. Yes, a DSLR and tripod are required. Suggest a wide angle lens and as fast a speed as you have. Also use a cable or remote release to avoid any vibration. Used Tamron 15-30mm f2.8 and never change lens inside canyon due to dust. When you see the hordes of camera phone shooters all jocking for positions and getting other peoples heads in their shots you'll be glad that you took the photo tour. They also have a afternoon tour for photographers and their spouse or friend. https://www.navajoantelopecanyon.com/

Some others have said Osprey also, although when I was there I was told it was an eagle nest with young chick in the nest. The nest was/is very large. In other pictures the wings are solid brown and the tail is white - making be believe it is an eagle, but too far off to verify. Thanks for your input, much appreciated.

Not normally a bird photographer, and these probably show it.
#1 - Blue Bird photographed in Yellowstone NP near Old Faithful
#2 - Yellow Headed Black Bird photographed @ Henderson Bird Preserve, NV
#3 - Eagle's nest photographed in Yellowstone Grand Canyon - Note: See eagle soaring in upper right corner of image.

Comments and critique welcome.

P.S. Apologizes for watermarks - however I recently had a photo "misappropriated" by someone I know and used on their political site with whose beliefs I disagree with. Guess I need to be more careful in the future. Just a heads up to everyone, thieves are out there and it just might be someone you know.

Good 2nd attempt. As they say "Practice, practice, practice". Like that you included people on boardwalk - for human scale and interest. Hard to shoot whites in clouds, steam and snow with contrasting blacks. Was this shot in color and then converted to B&W? Photoshop or did you use NIK or Topaz Studio to convert to B&W?

Your Milky Way cemetary shoot it very good. Like how you got Milky Way and monument to meet. One critique if I might - I'd remove the 2 "hot spots" in the sky - yellow in lower left and white in upper right - assume they are planes, maybe UFO's.
