Don, I have used this lens several times on a Canon 7d Mk2 and it is great. I have always rented and plan to buy. The only minor draw back is the weight, it is a monster. Try it as a rental first and see what you think. Happy shooting.
Hello fellow Hog. All the advice you have received has been good and informative but you need to take it one step further. After you have narrowed down your list rent each of your choices for at least three (3) days and check them out. What you should do is with a fifty (50mm, f/1.4) lense go to any church in your area and shoot using different f-stops. The reason I say church is that the lighting will be almost equal to a high school gym. Then check the image quality. From this you can chose what is the best one for you. Also the ten (10fps) can also be checked at the same time. Good shooting.
One Easy Rider, thanks for this shot and the cars make it great.
Hello fellow Hogs. Can anyone direct me to how to set up an external hard drive for lightroom six on a Mac. I want to thank everyone who responds in advance for their help.
Count me in. I would appreciate a section on Drone Photography. I don't own a drone but would appreciate more information on getting started.
I have had this lens for several years now and consider it one of the best. Before you decide, why not rent to get your own opinion. If you wait for the II version and it's any better you will be greatly rewarded. There might be one drawback and that might be the price of the II version. Happy shooting.
LF, this is a great lens one of my favorites. It is fast and the IQ is excellent. The tight shots (7dII) and quick focus will get you some great natural shots even in poorly lit gyms. If you are under the basket you can pick up the players at the half court line. Get some shots and let us know how it worked out.
Good morning, is this item still for sale.
Check Lens Rental they have pretty good prices.
Before you buy, why not rent to see, feel and shot with the lenses. I rented both of these lenses and the 120-300 is a monster. Give the lenses a try on what you normally shot. It can make a BIG difference.
Thank You fellow Hogs. I will NOT be doing any business with them.
Anyone here have any feedback on 42nd street photo? Saw a lens and camera I was interested in for low, low price.
Wendy 2, the advice on calibrating is important thank you for reminding me.
Jeep daddy, thank you for the advice. Should it also have a DVD included?
Rongnongno, if I go with the screamer what would be the specific components. Hard drive (type) ram and other accessories.
