Anyone here have any feedback on 42nd street photo? Saw a lens and camera I was interested in for low, low price.

Use search here to see what other members have to say about them and also use Google to see what rating others give them.

Thank You fellow Hogs. I will NOT be doing any business with them.
Whatever happened to 47th Street Photo. Had a good experience with them a fairly long time ago.
A friend of mine purchased a Canon camera from them and an the box had been opened and upon inspection he found that there was contamination on the sensor. He called them got a bunch of grief from them but after some arguing he got them to exchange it for another unopened package. The second one was fine, but, I would be a dollar to a donut that it's a grey market camera.
If the price is low, low, low, it's grey market merchandise at best. B&H, Adorama, KEH are just a few of the reputable dealers of REAL brand name camera that folks like here at the Hog. Good luck.
Avoid it like the Plague !

Do a search on this site for 42nd Street Photo. Don't go there!!
no way would i deal with 42nd street photo..it is like one of those touristy shops that have big sales ..i think it is all grey market and probably inferior quality products sold and reduced costs..it is nothing like the real camera stores.....i am from new york ..my first choice is B and H photo..they will always back their products and are very helpful with any problems ..if you want to return anything they are very accommodating..i have dealt with them for years..never had a problem either purchasing directly from the store itself or mail order when I'm away...
Adaroma is my second choice..it's a much smaller store but they are very good with their service..after all they are competitors to B and H..I've shopped in both when I'm in the city..most of the time they are both within the same price range anyway..
