If you want to be a better photographer, start deleting more.

Better would be to stop shooting so many lousy images by concentrating on what you're doing; learn from your mistakes and avoid repeating them. Rely less on luck and more on skill.

I do the same but many only read manual in case of emergency.

And some will still not read the manual, even in case of emergency! I've seen countless inquiries on UHH which could have easily been resolved by simply looking at the manual.

The 35mm film camera had a long reign as the king of photography cameras.

If you are comparing DSLR with mirrorless, wouldn't it be more accurate to divide film cameras into the rangefinder and the SLR categories?

Before acquiring any electronic gear, I almost always download and carefully read the manual BEFORE making the final decision to buy. To find out if any additional items or software will be needed, and how much this may cost me. And also if the item I'm thinking of purchasing actually does everything I hope it will do.

Buy first, read manual later simply doesn't make much sense to me.

Give Inkscape a try. It's free and has many features useful for creating logos from scratch.

And in a few years, camera companies will be pushing something else. With dwindling camera sales, they need to convince photographers to dump their (perfectly working) old cameras and buy new cameras and new lenses.

More likely they are simply suffering from depression. Gloomy images help them confront their depression, a way to visually express their mood - cheerful photos of kittens in a basket just won't do.

Respectfully, if a $279 tripod is too expensive for your budget, you might be better off skipping the tripod completely and just lean against some inanimate object for support

What nonsense. Even an inexpensive tripod is better than none at all. As long as it won't collapse under the weight, it will help.

Compared to the cameras you already have, the Sony RX10 IV is not necessarily smaller or lighter. Although this of course depends on exactly how many and which lenses you would carry around with your a77 or a99ii.

How a about Olympus TG6 it’s small it’s tough unless photography is in his future than I’d look at Olympus omd10

$500 and up is a lot to spend on a camera for a teenager who may or may not get serious about photography.

If you are planning to sell the camera, thoroughly inspect and test it to determine if it is still in working order. Even it was fully functioning when you last used it years ago, it can go bad over time. You can get significantly more money for the camera and be able to sell it more easily if you can affirm that it has been tested and it indeed works.

If there is nothing at all on the card, it may be your friend accidentally grabbed an unused, blank card rather than the one with image files on it. Mix-ups happen.

Why? To combat the rising oil prices everyone is complaining about. And so far, this strategy is working.

Oh My, I wonder if the Catholic Church will sue everyone with a tattoo of Jesus or that of a cross.

Wonder no more. If the church doesn't hold the copyright for the imagery, it has no legal grounds to sue. Besides, only the tattoo artist is in danger of being sued, not the tattoo recipient.
