I case you missed them, there are people, who are fitter than me , on the walking trail to the left of the first sister. Gives some idea of the scale of these formations.

Thanks for looking and yes there are many scenic photos but to have some history does seem to make the photo.

These are a tourist attraction in Katoomba, New South Wales, Australia.
The Sisters stand 922,918 and 906 meters tall. The Aboriginal dream time legend has it that the three sisters, "Meehni", "Wimlah" and "Gunnedoo" lived in the Jamison Valley as members of the Katoomba tribe. The beautiful young ladies had fallen in love with three brothers from the Nepean tribe, yet tribal law forbade them to marry.
The brothers were not happy to accept this law and so decided to use force to capture the sisters causing a major tribal battle.
As the lives of the three sisters were seriously in danger, a witchdoctor from the Katoomba tribe, took it upon himself to turn them into stone to protect them. As the witchdoctor was the only one who could reverse the spell and he was killed in the battle, the sisters remain as the magnificent rock formation to remind generations to come.
Thanks for looking, it had been cloudy for days before but cleared up just for us! Fascinating to look up and see things that I never saw before. It's a big Galaxy but there is so much more,...........
Hey Dook, I know those guys. My job was to electrically test all the equipment they use on the mains. Been retired for three years now and don't miss the travel, even though Ballana is somewhat warmer than here in Armidale.
Had a chance to screw my Canon 650D into a 20" telescope at Siding Springs, Coonabarabran, in NSW Australia. The telescope was a private one which the owner shows people. He has 6 telescopes in which we saw Saturn with the rings, although there was not enough light for photos. 2 degrees and we were outside as the telescopes must be at the same temperature as the night to stop the light bending? but well worth the cold. Unbelievable the night was so clear and there is not allowed to be outside lights for kilometers around.
Anyway just a couple of a nebula and a spiral nebula.
Enjoy
Where were you. Great photo, love to see them myself and my wife more so !
I think my glasses need glasses. Interesting
Looks like it took a big hit in the rear. New trailer LED lights and a bit of duct tape and continue around Australia!
