I wondered what happened to Shay. Thanks for capturing the info sheet. The sheet on the windscreen claims 1929! I always thought they were steel from the original presses. mmm. Research needed. The spokes in the wheels are a giveaway then the filler cap in front of the left rear wheel. Thanks for the nice photos.

Best is to Just forget it!! The cheap SOB will get his one of these days.
You will never convince him he is wrong!! Remember He IS A DOCTOR!!
I have met and dealt many people him in my 60+ years as a Mechanic, after getting shafted a couple of times I learned not to deal with people like that.
While rebuilding a transmission I once ask a Professional why his time was worth three times my wages, he told me I HAVE A DEGREE , I just smiled and politely told him to put his transmission back together, locked my tool box and left work early!! The next day I got my butt chewed by the boss, I finished the job at quiting time I ask the boss if I should come in the next day he laughed and and said yes. The next time the guy came in the boss sent him packing.

THIS is inflation. Oil is @ $80 a barrel, so that isn't the cause.

That's interesting the rates in 90247 very similar to ours. Where is 90247 is that your zip code?

I'm very intrested in rates other folk use. Jerry, it sounds like you've done some calculation to reach that figure, Is that the actual per unit charge, or the total charge divided by the number of units used? In NZ, we have a "line charge" a "unit charge, another small fee, and then the whole lot is charged what we call GST, (Goods & services Tax, )I think that is 15%. My rates are 30cents per day line charge, 25.4 cents per unit, the small charge is a levy for something 0.13 cent (about an eighth of a cent). This is called a low user rate, because I use few units, (250 units in May) I opt to pay more per unit and less for the line charge. A real incentive to use less. Others pay less per unit, say 20cents, but maybe $1 a day line charge. There is a breakeven point to work out, being a real frugal fellow I'm well under it. Back to my question are you really on 41cents a unit? that seems quite high, in comparison. Andrew.

WOW! I thought that was yet to happen it's easy to get confused about the time of things here, being a different day. I wish I could have been there to see that the best thing I have seen is a starlink deployment string a couple years ago.

No one else mentioned this, but rather than the largest screen possible, consider two screens, good sized of course, I'm not suggesting you spread an image over both screens but you can have two applications running and visible and both fullscreen. Most good graphics cards have at least two outputs anyway. Once you get used to two screens you'll miss only having one.

I can remember when the viewing week revolved around Hill Street Blues. When I was a kid, Thunderbirds was big, As I grew older, MASH was pretty popular. In recent times Friends was popular, not that I could see the appeal, but I learnt to love Big Bang Theory, Two and a half men, these days very little seems to appeal to me.

Beautiful engine. It does not get any better than a DOHC inline six until you put two of those together to make a 12 cylinder. Those were/are such great cars.

I believe the engine designer, whose name from memory was William Heynes, was given a list of attributes the engine must have, and looking good was one of them. I think I heard that from a friend of mine who had 3 different XJ cars,, at different times.

My very first MP3 player went thru the wash machine, in pants pocket, and hung out to dry. Still using it years later. But cameras are notoriously not water loving. Nor electronics in general. Or.....are we being gypped by the repair industry? I guess it's possible that some DSLR are built like a tank and rebuildable, quite different to the miniature marvels of true pocket AF hi-spec cameras with subminiature components some smaller than a grain of sand.
I understand your scepticism.

I no longer pay attention to such things but when I was working in a retail shop, Credit was becoming easier and easier, and "the system" seemed to be encouraging us to update appliances etc on the dollar down dollar a week system. 36 months interest free etc. It seemed to heading towards the stage where just as you finished paying for it it was at the end of it's life and need replacing. That's getting awful like a subscription system, a perpetual hire purchase system. Of course you do "own" it, in the sense that you can't just stop paying and have it picked up again. The complete flip side to have your cake and eat it. That's the retailer/manufacturer/distributors' luxury.

I looked on youtube and found that. Will watch them when I've caught up on otherstuff, meanwhile, I look foward to hearing how the catalogue goes. Is the free trial a limited time thing or permanent with not all features enabled?

Fabulous photo, story, and subject. I have a few friends in the Fire Service, they are a special breed of people. I can tell you that down here in New Zealand the whole country followed those events with......emotion. (I don't have the words) It was an awful day, a life-changing day even though it was the other side of the world. We are one people, when will we ever learn? Best wishes, Andrew.

Actually, at the time she learnt she had become Queen, she was photographing Elephants. From the Treetop Hotel. And apparently the elephants heard the news before she did, there was an exceptionally high number of them turned out at the waterhole that night, (although maybe that's the legend that has grown) and she also used a movie camera. Years later her children had the movie put on a CD Rom for her, It's probably on Youtube now I haven't looked.

Hello everybody, I am sadly sharing an event here in New Zealand that occurred recently, to a Photography club on their outing, an great day out that resulted in five members not coming home. If you're a believer in prayer, please pray for the families. If you're not, at least spare a moment's thought for them, and the survivors. https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/129852556/kaikura-boat-tragedy-victim-susan-cade-dedicated-kayaker-dancer-photographer Best wishes to all of you around the world. Andrew.
