If anyone suggests having a computer custom built, be careful not to go with XoticPC.

I do understand because you have little computer knowledge so you want the largest screen. The largest screen is quite expensive and may not work very well.
I think you can just to to store that have computers like Best Buys or if you live near a Microcenter just to to that. Just pick one. Or you can spend some time learning about what's availble in term of computers.

Depends on how persnickety you are with the characteristics. I just needed a new laptop....
I recently got an HP Laptop - 15.6" screen
Processor: 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-1155G7 2.50GHz
RAM: 12.0 GB
SSD: 512GB
OS: Win 11 Home
Numeric Keypad; backlit keyboard; touch screen.
From Costco. $580.

WORKS GREAT (wonderfully)!
(for me)
My main computer is a desktop.

You want a laptop or a desktop - what's the budget? The largest screen can be 'large' - like 42 inches but that is too big, take a look at the store at some 27 and 32-inch screens, and see if those will work. Bestbuy, Costco or Sams are good places to look see, if you have any of those near.

If you are a Costco member, go there. Spend as much as you are comfortable. Try it out. If it does not do what you want, Costco has a 90 day satisfaction guarantee for a full, no questions asked, refund.

No one else mentioned this, but rather than the largest screen possible, consider two screens, good sized of course, I'm not suggesting you spread an image over both screens but you can have two applications running and visible and both fullscreen. Most good graphics cards have at least two outputs anyway. Once you get used to two screens you'll miss only having one.

Don't buy the 1st one you see...
Make a list of features you want, must have features, hard drive sizes and types, Ram size, monitor size and type (gaming for photo editing), number of ports needed.
Check out this: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ it has a help section!
I put mine together (with no prior experience with building/assembling a computer)!

Haha- I bought the second laptop I saw?, or was it the third.
It has ports, memory, storage, numeric keypad, backlit keyboard,
and the speed and screen size are good.
I guess subconsciously I had some minimum/acceptable requirements though.
