I would truly appreciate any thoughts on doing some outdoor family pics. Could be related to lighting, filters, staging of the subjects, things to look for, things to avoid, best time of day, cool props, lenses, flash v no flash, angle of flash.

Will be mom, dad and up to 3 kids.

As always I appreciate your feedback.

Jeff

PS-- If you have any interesting family shots you want to share along with what you did to get them--that would be helpful as well.

I'm guessing they use Nikon because they are overspending tax payer dollars once again---lol (Sorry couldn't resist this one) ;)

http://www.kjgregorsphotography.com it needs some updating (photos added)....

I also use shutterfly for websites for my customers to order more of the prints they want, its a complimentary thing, and no I am not set up to earn any money from their sales...

Each customer gets a website made by me of their photo shoot and then I add to it as they have more shoots..

i keep most of my best shots on my Smugmug site, and use it both a display site and as an 'electronic portfolio' which i use when i want to give gallery or shop owners an idea of what i do, before they commit to exhibiting my work.

Buddah--

Thanks for the reply. Wasn't trying to be cruel. My interpretation of Bobs original comment was simply, Kmart is more mass market vs a bit more upscale Macy's. I agree, it depends on what you are looking to do.

Should have been more careful with my comments. I like Shutterfly.

Thanks for the reply.

Thanks to Bob Mielke who gave me some sage advice-- he said, "Shutterfly is K-mart and SmugMug is Macy's" I made the upgrade and love it.

Wondering if a few would be willing to share your SmugMug Website link so I can see other "ideas" and creativity? Mine is a complete work in progress as I just set it up. One thing I am noticing is "Less is Better".

Also any other tips on setting it up for good presentation, flow, etc would really be appreciated. I would like to eventually set it up to sell some of my photos.

Thanks in advance.

Jeff

I sure the Pro version---LOVE it. Super easy and one of the things I like about it is I can upload more than 3 pics to merge.

Buy it, you won't be let down.

Thanks Bob---I just got the HDSoft Pro--love it. Super easy and fun to use. Here is one I did recently for my friends cabin he rents out for his website.

Nevermind Bob---I seen to have a heck of a time getting jpegs to actually upload. I hit Browse and then attach the file--when I hit "Send" it just erases the file I added. Any clue what I am doing wrong?

Would love it if you could share any knowledge of the following:

1). Techniques for shooting outside and inside. Angles that are preferred? Things to include and exclude? Average exposure or other settings that 'show' or print better to show off a house?

2). Any marketing tips and/or bests ways to price for still pics only (not video).

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Is there a big difference between using an Extension Tube or a Macro Filter? Can you combine the two?

Let's say I do a photo shoot for my friends kids baseball game. I have 15 images I want to send to them. Seems I can only insert so many into an email AND they need to be seriously reduced.

Any advice on cheapest and quickest way to "attach" these photos or sending a link?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Thanks to all for your responses. I have discovered that as much as I was trying to keep my old SD card and use an Adaptor---after some extensive studying I have learned it does slow things down and I am better off just going with the CF card in my 40D.

I truly appreciate all the responses.
