Perhaps a lesson of what happens when when we subcontract virology research to China? And to think we paid them $350 million for infecting our country. We never seem to learn.
Our condolences and prayers from our family to his. The article portrayed a someone I could have easily called a friend.
The question from the OP is a valid one. Comparing statistics is not down playing anything. It is just a comparison of facts and / or figures.
Thanks for sharing. Her rendition of that tune leaves nothing to the imagination. She lays it out to perfection.
Interesting dilemma many of us wished we had. LOL
To me it sounds like this:
Longer reach ( smaller FOV) with the crop sensor vs greater depth of field and low light capabilities of the FF sensor.
If you are more comfortable with the DSLR, vs. a bit of a learning curve of a MILC, I can see your conflict.
More daytime shots = crop sensor wins IMO
A lot of low light sunset / sunrise shots - FF wins IMO
Suggestion - take the 7Dll and pick up a used 6D and be happy. For where you are going, maybe a Rokinon 12mm f/2 on the 6D will give you many low light shots to remember to accompany the 7Dll with the 100-400 on a bean bag or mono pod? It's just about perfect! IMO of course.lol Good journey!!
By comparison, 157,000 +- people in the U.S. die EACH MONTH from a collection of the more commonly known diseases. Heart related, COPD, pneumonia, diabetes, cancer, and several others that hardly tick the news anymore with the possible exceptions of the obituary page and TV solicitations for "research" donations. I guess my point is that it seems we hear so much about individual diseases, but seldom get an overall view of the statistics of what is adding to our demise. Granted many are caused by individual choices we make that may result in dependencies that eventually lead to death, but is this any worse than a very bad flu season that results in pneumonia and death. Yearly 450 million people around the world contract the flu and about 45 million die from flu complications every year. Without a doubt, we are facing a killer of mass proportions, but is it any worse than what the world faces each year? Are we missing seeing the forest for the trees?
God bless you and your co-workers. Good info, some of which seems to differ from previous reports that stated that the death rate of patients that were placed on a ventilator was about 50/50, a little higher percentage of deaths for males than females.
I have hope for the lab testing of an anti-parasitic drug which is reported to kill covid completely in 48 hours. We shall have to wait and see.
Interesting and helpful. I am also a fan of UK wedding photographer Richard Barley who continues shooting with his Canon 5D. He has a few formulas but does not use metering at all (manual mode) and is very successful at at it. That said, it is not always perfect, so he does alter the shutter speed for his exposures. ISO for outdoors and aperture remain the same using ISO 200, f/5.6, 1/200. Indoors he starts at ISO 1600, f/4, 1/60. According to his youtubes, his main lenses are the Canon 24-105 f/4, and the 70-200 f/4 IS. Wondering if his method is a bit faster for weddings for run and gun shooting? I can see a specific use for a meter shooting stills, group shots and especially in studio.
Good post and discussion. Thanks to all.
Thanks, but I am busy doing nothing.
Can still get out for walks. City parks are restricted for use. I may try to exercise by playing a few holes of disc golf if allowed. Play areas are shut down, as are basketball courts for obvious reasons. Hard to do and maintain social distancing. Not a problem with disc golf. County parks are closed as far as I know. State parks and camping remains open. Biggest concern remains shopping. Majority are compliant and respectful of the 6' distance between people, but there is always someone that thinks the rules are for others. They are usually reminded. lol
The list of "essential businesses" that are allowed to remain open is fairly lengthy. Just hoping we do have to go beyond this. Stay covered and safe.
It was a welcomed change from the zombie apocalypse movies / series.
The story has been covered by every major and local news organizations. What Jerry reported is factual.
Husband died. His wife who also ingested the same concoction was or is in critical condition in a hospital. They took doses of a product that is used for cleaning / removing algaecide from fish tanks. Google it and you will find multiple stories on the event.
I think one makes more sense. At least to me, but what do I know.
