Very well done Craig.
I was too lazy to chase it tonight and played with Orion and Jupiter with the new filter.

Thank you very much Jim, I'll be out there tonight after those two also.
Good hunting, It will be between Aldebaran and Pleiades and a little to the west.
I used 150mm to locate then zoomed in to 550mm and the tail trails a good amount to the East.

great photo Craig, with no trailing, what focal length did you use or tracker?
sorry just re read & found focal lengths dur

Hello Marc,
Thank you , I use a Celestron GT 2000 Drive with a bracket I made up.
The mount has a dovetail receiver and locking screw so it assembles in a New York minute.

I Just got a keno 2X last summer. But haven't played with it to much yet.

That's one thing I was wondering if the Kenko was better. Now are you using a Nikon TC directly to the Tamron 150-600mm, is there enough room between the glass on the 2??? Or are you using a Sigma???

While out shooting today with gregoryd45, we were watching this Osprey try to catch fish. She decided to rest for awhile and tried to land in a Cypress tree where a Spoonbill had already taken over. The Spoonbill was not going to share this tree! The Osprey was immediately driven off.

Really nice capture Molly,

I might take the camera for a walk Saturday and Sunday.:) Looks like we are going to be close to forty. I haven't seen the Moon in weeks here.:( I keep trying for a shot of Orion, but so far I don't have the reach. I just got a 150-500 and I am going to try and stack 3 TC's. I did it with the 80-400 and it did pretty good on the Moon. I use 2 Nikon TC's 1.4and a 1.7 with a Bower 2.0 between them.
Erv

Wow! Sounds mighty powerful. I have a Tamron 2x TC I use sparingly.
Not the best piece of glass.

Thanks Erv, Sounds like fun I haven't seen snow in 30 years.
But it looks like you have some nice weather coming Sat. Should be a nice week end. Do you plan on shooting anything Astro?:P

This is about the best I can do with my Canon 60d and 100-400L. I believe this one was shot at 5000 ISO for 3 or 4 seconds, F5.6 and cropped just a bit. This astronomy stuff is getting fun. And I believe it could become a tad expensive!

Very nice and a great start in the Astronomical Photography Forum.
I have not been able to locate it with my Tamron 150-600mm.
Please stay with us.
