Wonderful pictures. They bring back memories.

It is difficult not to get beautiful pictures when you are in God's Country!

At age 14 & 15... I was fortunate to spend two complete summers on Upper Saranac Lake in 1947 and 1948 at Deerwood Music Camp. It shaped my life as a musician.

... not to mention a few years later when two of us went on a 10-day canoe trip through the heart of the Adirondacks !!!

Is it okay to post the same picture on both the photo contest (while current) and the photo gallery... concurrently? I see it has been done in today's issue. Just want to be sure.

When posting on the photo gallery... how do you get it so it can be downloaded. (I probably just missed something.)

Thanks

I did a dog swim a month or so ago... including my dog Nicodemus... who doesn't like the water. It is great fun. (I love photography but am not a pro.)

I used my D7100 with a Tamrom 16-300mm. Thats all. I can't remember if I used a polarizing filter or not. But I don't think you want to cut out all, the reflections. High shutter speed. Keep your camera dry! And don't just shoot dogs. The interaction of dogs and people is important IMHO.

You are welcome to see my best eight shots on my website... barrypictures.com The dog swim is No. 15. (The top 4 are my wife with Nicodemus. The final 4 are random.

Our Chapel Hill yearly dog swim is a Animal Services fund raiser. $5/dog... people free.

These are very nice pictures. And swans are beautiful creatures.

BUT... be careful about getting too close to them. One day on the golf course I got to about 15 yards of the pond's edge. They came our of the water and attacked me.

No harm done, though.

Well, my timing was off. I just missed the deadline for submitting this for the "exotic" photo contest. But here it is anyway.

If they aren't an exotic couple... who is?!

I saw your sunset pics... And they are stunning! For a fleeting moment I thought I was looking at mine! Then I realized that yours were sunset and mine are sunrise... up the road at Emerald Isle... Monday AM before 7. Same colors... Same clouds... Etc. (sorry I can't post mine now). Also a D7100 w/ Tamron 16-300. You are right... No PP needed.

Well done!

This afternoon we are taking our dog to the local dog swim... a fundraiser after the pool season is over and just before draining the pool. Aways great fun!!

Question: would you use a polarizing filter for these outdoor pool shots... to not?

Thanks

It is a veery nice group. I'm not going to say there is one I like best. But... being in the minority... I loved the simplicity of #1. For fun, I cropped out the town at the bottom.... and, using Lightroom, Basic panel only... tried adjusting ... just a bit. An interesting outcome.

I hope you don't mind.

Veery well done with all.

Need some help.

I’m using Lightroom CC on my iMac to PP my D7100 shots. I love it. I have not yet done anything with Lightroom Mobile on my iPad… though it’s loaded… but blank.

Looking ahead to Sept at the ocean… I will want to view my photos on my iPad. But I'd like to do more than just view.

I have successfully loaded them through my Apple SD reader onto Apple Photos for viewing on the pad.

Now is where I’m having no success (in my trials)…

I can’t get my new photos onto Lightroom Mobile on my iPad. I can view them on Photos… but no transfer to LR Mobile.

Thanks if you can help.

The term 'God's Country" had to have been penned because of the Adirondacks! It truly is. And your pics... especially those showing the great expanse of it all... are beautiful.

I went to music camp on Upper Saranac in the latter '40s. And one summer in the early '50s, my friend and I took a 10-day canoe trip there... Fulton Chain of 8 lakes, Raquette Lake, Forked Lake, Long Lake, Raquette River and the three Saranacs. Not to be forgotten in this lifetime.

Many thanks for bringing it all front and center for me.

The Finger Lakes are beautiful. I like the second shot showing the area.

In June of 1954 I took Air Force basic training there... That base is longer there. I think it belonged to the Navy before Air Force.

I never saw the lake!!
