What your drawing describes is like the old style "T" mount where you have an adapter that might have a Canon EF mount for the camera, but the lens screws in to the front of the adapter. They're readily available.

I, as a Hoosier, am hoping for Indianapolis. We have four Interstates running through Indy making for efficient distribution.
Indy would be a great choice; low cost of living and plenty of available land. Why they would consider some of the larger eastern cities with their high cost of living, high taxes, and overcrowding is beyond me.

We will be in Las Vegas in Feb. We have been to Red Rocks, Antelope Canyon,Death Valley etc. and have heard there may be photo ops around St. George Or Zion. Any one been to those areas? Thanks.
While you are in Vegas, you might seek out Ethyl M cactus gardens [off Sunset]. I used to live in Vegas 30 years ago, and often went there to photograph cactii, desert plants, and flowers. Don't know if it is still open but you might call or Google it; if it is, it's worth a stop.
Also, in Arizona, not too far south of Hoover dam, there was a huge Joshua tree forest on the road to Pearce Ferry that might be worth a short trip.

Cedar Breaks N.M. and Coral Pink Sand Dunes are not to far away, as is Cathedral George S.P. in Nevada.

Thank you Mr Bill 2011, what in the world is a 'hot shoe'?
For external flash; P900 only permits use of the built in pop-up flash.

What is the advantages of the Nikon 900 over the canon SX60?
Thank you in advance,

I've had a P900 for about a year now; it has a really nice 2000mm equiv. lens. Other than that, I really consider it a mediocre camera. No raw, no hot shoe. If I were doing it over again, I don't know if I would buy it again. But then, it does have that lens!
I can remember, as a very little kid, sitting on the floor in front of the radio and listening to Sargent Preston of the Northwest Mounted Police. Had to be around 1950.
wait until that $15 an hour minimum wage kicks in; then you'll see those pump jockeys disappear real quick!
[quote=jerryc41]"Up" and "down" have opposite meanings, yet we tend to use them interchangeably when a camera or computer is involved. Think of you computer (or camera) as Home. If something is leaving your camera or computer, you are uploading. If the device is receiving something, you are downloading. When the pictures go from your camera to your computer, you are uploading them.
Very simple: I always download "from" my camera, computer, or whatever, and I upload "to" computer or wherever I'm moving my file! Not much different that emigrating "from" a country, while at the same time, immigrating "to" another!

The same here, Bill. So many trips I made in the past are now only memories . . . never to be repeated - but at least, we have the memories.
We went in at Big Sandy, camped at Lonesome Lake [there was only one other tent there at that time], went out over Texas Pass [I think] backpacked up the Highline Trail and eventually came out at Green River Lakes campground. That was my first western trip; after that, we went somewhere out west every summer, usually backpacking, for over 10 years. Have many hundreds of Kodachrome slides that I am slowly scanning.
Was there in 1977; looks like it hasn't changed much. Wish my legs would let me go again.
what frustrates me is not all the passwords I need to use, but the fact that I must change passwords and deal with possible theft of my data every few months after the site gets hacked because of THEIR lax security!
I always make a point of carrying 5 or 6 one dollar bills in my wallet for tips. Learned to carry them for tips when I lived in Las Vegas in the 80s; that way, any quarters I got back for change, I could put in the video poker machines I passed.
How much do you typically tip the guides at the end of a tour?
