This is the best I got until I can get to the meager little zoo we have in town and can get some more critter pics.

Ahh. That hit the spot.

*smiles softly*

Naw.
Honestly THIS was the most important thing in life: spending time with her Great-Grandfather (my Dad) who is continuing his struggle with cancer.
In fact, she spent the day with only family for her party this time, and that was a blessing for all.

The money-thing... her "Poppie" started that mess when she was 2 with two dollar bills in her card. She had the bug then! Someone gave her another card earlier on tonight... no money. You should have seen her face as she looked at me and shook it and opened it WAYYY up... and grimmaced as if to say: "Nuffin' ". LOL
When she opened Poppie's card though... there it was! Money!

Looks like everyone had a good time. I hope for the best for your dad. I was going to yank your chain about you needing to change your sign-off but you beat me to it.

So... my grand-daughter turned six years old today.
That's news enough... but moreso... I was gifted a new-to-me Canon Rebel XT EOS 350D (TONS of kisses to Ian XOXOX) with which I was able to take the photos tonight.

Now, I know they aren't professional portrait quality, but one works with the specifics of the situation at hand.

I won't bore everyone with the whole gambit of customary birthday party shots... but will share some of them here.

I'm so happy I can't see straight!

It's good to know that not everything has gone high tech.

Jellybeans with wheels.

Very low tech.

More commonly known as the Green sea turtle. These pictures were taken with a $12 Fuji film underwater disposable camera.

Joe, I love your sunset.

Thanks Rachel. I do need to re-hang it before all the water runs off to the right. The things you notice after you post a picture.

I'd say you did pretty well with the "after" all things considered!
Can't tell you how many "fixer-uppers" of mallards I have like this, either... so don't feel alone in it!

What would have been the saving grace of this shot, imo, is for the birds to have been in reverse order... so that the female didn't blend in with the background so much.

You know I asked them to change positions but they just looked at me like they didn't understand english. Ducks. There so moody.

I love the reflection in the glass smooth water in the Lake Codorus photo.

I know the "after" could be better. The "before" didn't leave me much to start with. Blame that on the photographer. Taking better pictures and better (and hopefully less) editing is a work in progress. Stay tuned.

When I opened up the freezer door and saw these odd ice cubes I had to take a picture.
