Busbum, you have a much newer OS than I have. But I found Notifications, and clicked everything to off. Keeping my fingers crossed and thanks.

Thanks. I do hope to find a way to get that damn upper screen pop out off my computer. It is making it more difficult to help my students.

I've tried the suggestions, so far. No solution working yet.

I enjoy how we can help each other, in photography and many other ways too. This is one of those "other ways".

I'm using an iMac with High Sierra, although I doubt the OS has much to do with it. I also use Chrome, and prefer it over others for the Apple. But about two weeks ago, I'm getting a nuisance top-right corner pop-out with the Chrome logo in it. Right now it says "Search For Car Donation", below on line two: freshbreakingnews.com" and below that "#Yahoo! Search".

I've reduced the size of my browser, so that it doesn't cover the corner where I would click the + sign for a new tab. To make matters worse (and here is where I'll appreciate your help), as I continue to teach remotely from home, I want my students to send me e-mail, at any time, to ask questions. Now my e-mail client (?) pushes out a similar top-corner notice, informing me of a new e-mail. I welcome that one. But with Chrome's thing staying on top, I must stop anything I'm doing on my browser until the e-mail notification retracts. I'd really like to get rid of the above mentioned Chrome constant and ever present pop-out. I've searched the Internet, but multiple attempts on 'settings' and things have not solved the problem. Any of you experience this too?

For anyone beginning in Affinity Photo, that workbook is an excellent resource. It was my start.

I agree that Affinity Photo has been slower to open my raw files. Like you, I shoot only raw. At the advice of a former student of mine, now an IT person, I expanded the memory of my iMac and it has helped. Aside from that, what did you think of the program?

Now that my semester is nearly concluded, I have my stack of four books on Affinity Photo which I plan to read and study. I want to become as proficient with it as I have learned to be with Photoshop.

And should there by any fellow member here in St. Louis, doing Photoshop, I have more than a dozen books on Photoshop that I'd gladly give away. I've learned a great deal from them, and glad so much of that has been transferred to my Affinity usage. I like to share books.

I totally get it, wanting to save money. And for many, $9/month is not a way to save money. I've just found something I wasn't expecting. Affinity Photo is currently on sale. Just $24.99, and it is all paid for. No monthly payments. All upgrades are free too.

I paid $49 two years ago, and never sorry for a moment. So you can purchase it for $24.99. Worried it may overpower you with all-up-front options, then test-drive it, with a free trial offer.

And by the way, everyone, I am not an Affinity salesperson. Those of you who know me, know that I teach college physics. Like many of you, I've been doing photography since I was 14. And, I've "grown" through all the Photoshop upgrades, beginning in 2005, thru PSCS5. In fact, I have more than 20 books on Photoshop. It's a great program. But for me, I'm enjoying the experience in learning another program, and pleased to find some new features I've not seen before.

Enough of that. I just think that Brian might enjoy Affinity Photo for $24.99. Maybe others here will too.

I'm wanting to not poke fun at others, but as a life long teacher, I understand "You can't fix stupid". I have an additional axiom. Intelligence on the planet is a constant, yet the population continues to increase.

I'm a news hound, and I can only shake my head. In those states where people can now go socialize, via hair cut, nail salon, movie theatre, we can already predict what the illness and death graph will look four to seven weeks from now. And sadly enough, that will include their children. Like many of you, we are home quarantined. Out about once every two weeks, to a local market that offers seniors 7-8 am hours.

Yes, mask and gloves. We are confident we are negative, but the mask will show support for others. The gloves? In the biology department where I teach, research was made a month ago: How often do we touch our faces, and where? Answer, minimum of 22 times a day, mostly without even noticing it. Here was the surprise: eyes, that little corner that we often "clean" ever morning, and other times too. So in my mind, it's for face-protection that we wear gloves in the local market. Face IS the top entry point for bacteria and viruses.

Photography? During this semester, two of my students told me of their new interest in photography. Sooo, I've started an informal contest. Since my other half and I take a walk around our neighborhood, I take my Lumix pocket camera with me, and try the old idea: What is right outside our front door? Then once a week, we exchange .jpg of what we captured. This is actually quite fun.

I enjoy reading all of your adjusted home dressing and activity. I'm with you there. For me, I'm still busy teaching physics via the computer. Contact with my students, all over the St. Louis area, gives me that feeling of 'getting out'. We are even having a department meeting this evening. Hmmmm, I'll shave, put on a nice shirt, but do I really need to dress up below the waist line?

A question and a comment. First, can you guys tell me just how you are using the second monitor please? I'm eager to learn.

Comment: Wacom tech support. When I bought my new "best model available" Wacom tablet, I looked for help from Wacom tech support. Nodda! I first needed a translator since the person was from a third world county and could not speak English. Their online "instruction" is anything but. The product is outstanding. It's sad that the tech support does not match the product.

Since Affinity Photo is the 'new kid on the block', I was looking for someone who actually is using two monitors for Affinity.
