The birds, often called sandpipers are Willits, (Willit). I came across this flock taking a break on an outer dock at Farlies State Marina in Atlantic City NJ. As often happens I wasn't looking for a picture so I was not prepared with the correct camera. Shot with a 10 years old older Kodak EZ Share, from a boat.
The Sundown was shot facing NE, with a Canon T3i , 18-55 zoom a
@ about 24 mm. F7.1 ISO 800, 1/60. It was getting dark fast, would have preferred a lower ISO (I think) and I was experimenting with various ISO and aperture settings. My intent was to go small aperture- long exposure but of the 8-10 I shot this seemed best.
Nice shots I'm working my way up to this clarity.
These are not cranes though.
The white bird or birds is an Egret.
The larger blue/Gray one is a Great Blue Her on
Really sharp, as it good looking sharp. An attention grabber
Nice shot. A bit earlier or later would have drastically changed it
The ICW up this far can be a challange. We draw 5' & news to be current and tide aware when transiting.
Very cite bird with lots os attitude.
Thanks very much.
The Falcon was very skittish and I was maxed out with 200mm
The last posted image is the original and as you will see a much bigger lenses would have been helpful.
I'm pretty sure I have over cropped to enlarge the Falcon.
The focus as on AI and was tracking the bird, as best as I could.
I'm really a newcomer to photography, but not to birds.
And only 2 days into my trial of light room.

For boaters on the East coast, especially salt water boaters, that sign number really nails down a place. As an exact location on the ICW
All good thought, thanks
The Falcon is the central point of the shot. The sign is there it create contrast to the bird and surroundings plus give a sense of scale.
Thanks
I shot this from a boat, moving slowly. Because of the conditions involved in getting the shot very little preshot composition could be applied. I would greatly appreciate input on how to better crop/alter the shot to improve it.
The very last is the original shot, just in case a kind soul wants to show me "a more excellent way"
Thanks

Very Nice.
Were you above the clouds with the eagle or did you compose it to look so?
Thanks very much.
Mom and Dad had a small Samsung tablet that they were clueless to use. I moved all the apps to the background, to remove temptation. Then put about 9500 of his pictures on a 32 gig micro chip. Installed the chip into the tablet and gave them only one app selection.
This way if they get into trouble all they have to do is keep hitting the back button till they refund the home screen.
For now It the best solution I could come up with.
I'm planning on purchasing a picture viewer. We had 3 of these about 5 or 6 years ago. It looks like a picture frame with a blank screen
I'll load a selection of meaningfully pictures to it and it will do a constant slide show for them. With the number of shots available I doubt it will repeat very often.
