Read the manual and then try new things, then read the manual again and keep doing that till you're comfortable with your camera. And, like others have said, check out free photography courses and videos often. Enjoy and have some fun.

#1 is very nice. How do you make soap bubbles?

They're all very nice but the second is more to my liking. The colors are nicer to me.

Have you had your eyes checked recently? You may be developing cataracts which will make things look hazy. Have you shown the photos to anyone else? Did anyone mention that they look hazy? I just had one eye operated on for cataracts, so one eye is still hazy but with my good eye, I don't see any haze. They look nice and sharp to me.

If you're not looking for a pro model, try looking at the Sony camcorders that range from $199 up. They're HDMI and can take 9MP stills. Here's a link for B&H - https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?Ns=p_PRICE_2%7c0&ci=1871&fct=fct_brand_name%7csony&srtclk=sort&N=4294548093

If you can't figure out and fix the problem, you can always send the camera to Nikon and they'll figure it out. That would be a lot less expensive than a new camera and you could have it cleaned while it's there. Probably cost $125 (or less) but worth it if you can't figure out the problem.

Nice, I like catching fog over water on days like that.

B&W, color or digital, if an image is composed (accounting for lighting, subject position, aperture, shutter speed and more), it is a photograph. B&W and color film are often manipulated during both development and enlarging to achieve the end result, same as digital, just different methods/tools.

This is a lanscape with the IR filter. I don't have anything where there's a lot of heat on anything close-up.

Try using an IR filter for digital cameras. I picked up a few different filters last year and they work pretty well. I think there are many different light ranges to choose from. The 720nm worked best for me.

What kind of light conditions are you talking about, how big is the animal, how far away from the animal are you and what settings are you using to photograph the animals? Are you photographing with a tripod or hand held?

A simple fix to make the pasted image look like it isn't pasted in is, in PS select the pasted in image (layer), then click on the layer tab and at the bottom of the list, click Matting then select defringe and select 2 pixels then click ok. That should make the pasted in image look more natural and not so sharp around the edges.
