You can buy a third party extended warranty like Square Trade.

Thank You!

There are several applications available that will give shutter count on many Canon cameras, including the 6D. What computer do you use? PC or Mac?

Thanks, I use a PC and I tried uploading a program at one time but I couldn't get it to work. It has been a while and I actually forget what that program was.

Thanks for all of the positive feedback. I just pulled the trigger and ordered one, plus, even though I didn't really need it, I got a kit lens to carry around, all for $799 plus tax!

On the 6D you can use EOScount. I believe the url is: www.eoscount.com. There is a small cost.

On the newer Canons the shutter count cannot be accessed by consumers at this time.

Cool, THANKS!

I doubt they reset the shutter count. The Canon 7D they sent me had 735 shutter actuations on it and you could not tell that it was not new.

The current warranty on these factory refubs are 1 year. You really cannot go wrong with a factory refurbished unit, unless you want the fancy camera box- refurbs come in a plain white box with Canon's name and logo on it.

I wish I could figure out how to find the shutter actuations. I'm curious how many I have on my 6D.

If they refurb do they consider the camera "new' and reset the shutter count? Just curious!

I thought they did. I was told by customer service that they were mostly open box returns and overstock and the only difference between refurb and new was that you could not get the extended warranty. They do come with the 1 year warranty though :).

I hope I'm not misunderstanding you but, I use a lot of AEB at +/- 2/3 to 1 and have been pretty happy so far.

I've never ordered anything from Canon refurbished before. I need a crop sensor to carry around on my hikes and looking to get the 80D Refurbished. Anyone have any bad experiences getting refurbs?
Thanks.

Depends on the shot to me, I don't really prefer one way over the other. I kinda like the photo to tell me if I like it or not.
