Delicious looking pies. Being a pizza lover myself, I immediately "Googled" Ooni and checked out their pizza ovens. Which model did your son buy?

It looks like the Ooni Koda 16 propane gas.

Right, and also a future sale. Nikon USA uses profits from their imported sales to pay for warranty work. If they make no profit from the sale, they lose money on each repair.

They offer dealers in various countries protection from countries that have lower levels of various business costs.
Remember profit is not a dirty word. It pays your salary, half your social security contributions half your medicare contributions, and any health plan if offered. Every month half of your social security check comes from profits, not you.

Sorry you were confused by my post. Also, I'm not a "camera xenophobe", or any other xenophobe for that matter.

It was just a matter of curiosity.

Finally was able to attend ,the Rumble at the Ruins . Located in Glen Rock, Pa. ,it is an old warehouse complex being preserved for artists and the community. The site hosts numerous events thru out the year . One large event is the Arts and Brew fest .
Here is an excerpt from their site ,RULES OF THE RUINS:
Our goal is to stabilize and improve Ruins Hall for artists, event planners, community organizations, and artists.
Most activities are free and encouraged! In the event we charge a fee, that money will always stay in Glen Rock and go towards maintenance of the property.
You are welcome to visit, enjoy the artwork, and take pictures, as long as there is not an event going on. If you are taking commercial photography, you will need to email us for permissions.
Please note that Ruins Park is private property. When you enter the Park, you do so at your own risk. Ruins Park is actually the remains of an old warehouse, and as such, there are hazards present. Use caution while you're there, and help us keep the Hall clean. Please dispose of trash and recycling in the appropriate containers.
Painting at Ruins Hall is by invitation only. If you are interested in painting, please contact us. Unauthorized painting is strictly prohibited and subject to prosecution.
Ruins Park is also available for rental for private events. If you are interested in rental, please message or email us for more details. Enjoy your time at Ruins Hall.

Here is a video I found online ,there are several more on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n35p9epUPoI

It was a nice day trip and a chance to finally shoot my car in the Ruins plus meet friends from Maryland that we don't get to see enough. Hope you enjoy

Usually, when I post my early morning shots, they are from the Esplanade on the East River up around 84th St. Today however, I was down around 37th St. shortly after dawn. The area across the river is Long Island City, a section of Queens, which here includes Hunter's Point.
The day started with pretty much diffused, flat lighting. There was a quick change of sky when the sun and clouds played hide and seek for about 20 minutes. However, when I got off the bus near my home mid-morning, the sky was bright, cloudless and the shadows were quite strong, as seen in the last photograph.
The helicopter flies regularly between JFK and the heliport on the East River.
The hydrofoil ferry is not large enough to carry cars. It is seen here south of the Ed Koch bridge.
The pan is composed of four images, FYI.
With reference to the last photograph, hard-working bottle and can collectors can earn between $300 and $400 per week – cash. Often several family members, living in the same apartment, have different routes, and they all know when the bottles and cans are put out on the sidewalk.

Great pictures. The money those people make picking up cans, cash, or otherwise still isn't city money. Do you ever go to the The Promanade in Brooklyn Heights? The view at night is spectacular

I am a bit confused why GeneV cares. GeneV, are you a camera xenophobe?

What is the failure rate of Nikons? Is it so high that one should be concerned about factory repairs being needed? If so, then do not buy a Nikon; simple as that.

Historically, if on a trip to Japan, people would take that as an opportunity to buy a Camera at a lower price. I have a Panasonic TZ100 which is the twin of the SZ100. Why did I make the decision to go with the TZ100? Easy, it was the first to drop the price when the TZ/TX-200 was introduced; MONEY.

Are they different, NO... there is an extensive article doing a side-by-side specification comparison, other cameras, US vs Euro, are lightly compared.

Nikon reading:

What the heck is an Apotelyt?? The word is a title of a listing of Photo abbreviations.

PS: going on 5 years and no problem with my "wet back" camera.

One of the places around Page that's really interesting is Lee's Ferry. Before there was a road with a bridge, there was a ferry. It served all those coming down from the north to settle in Arizona. There's an old fort, and the little town is really neat. They planted an orchard that is still there and offers free picking of its fruit. Unfortunately, we had very un-Arizona cloudy skies when we were there, so my pictures don't truly represent how the place looks normally. Lee's Ferry is where tours put in and take out, so it's a pretty busy place.

Nice pictures. How did they get a subway car from NYC to Maine? Washington Heights used to be a nice area. Not so much now. There was a bar named Flemings we used to hang out at, in that area about 50-plus years ago.

Do you mean notecards in a box with your photos on them? Including envelopes?

I print my own and use envelopes from Staples. An 8.5 x 11 sheet of cover stock can provide two notecards. Cover stock (67 lb) is lighter than card stock (120 lb) and a bit cheaper, but heavy enough for notecards. If you don't want to print your own, just get some cards printed on whatever weight paper is to your liking and use a cutting board to make them the right size. 8.5 x 11 can be cut to 8.5 x 5.5, then folded in half to 4.25 x 5.5 and it fits into an invitation envelope. Any company that prints photos can probably do that. If you use photo paper you will want a marking pen to write on the slick surface unless you print the note as part of the card.

If that's not what you meant, ignore this post.

I bought a used Hasselblad camera from Adorama a few years ago, it was advertised as A H3D 39 II and I paid about 3500 for it minus lens. The box had a sticker that said it was a 39 II (serial number on sticker matched). Well, a guy came over to buy it today and he showed me various indicators in the camera that proved it wasn't a II, but the standard H3D 39 that had been rebranded as a II. Things like the top ISO was 800 instead of 1600 and the sensor should start and say it was II and the body wasn't marked as a II . Needless to say, I had to take considerably less money than a II would bring on the sale. I am surprised and saddened that a company as reputable as Adorama would stoop to such a level to screw somebody out of a few hundred dollars.

"standard H3D 39 that had been rebranded as a II" Perhaps they, like you were under the impression it was a 39 11 based on the serial number and sticker number.

So that is a little over $135.00. No matter where I think it is good value for the money spent.
