My preference would be for the Federal Government to collect the sales tax by zip code and remit them to the States.

That would save the shippers from needing to do a lot of calculating and remitting. Instead, they would just remit one list of all the shipments to all zip codes in a State with the amount of sales tax in one monthly statement. The Feds would then send one monthly check to each State after adding up all the various shippers.

No one likes paying taxes, however, our society does require money to run.

NH doesn't have a case for what happens outside their borders. If they don't want to tax their citizens that is their thing. If NY wants to, that is their decision.

Having trouble downloading full large Sony XQD G cards (128 and 256GB) to Apple iMac. Anyone else? Crashes. Using Sony's dedicated XQD loader that works fine for SD cards. Ideas? I also see Amazon has, at least for now, discontinued selling these Sony cards. Why?

How much of the cards can you d/l? It is always possible that you have down loaded everything and there was less than you remembered.

If you are crashing while trying to d/l I would try to do it in stages. Open the card on your computer and view the properties. That should give the files of everything and there should be some folders. Down load the folders in stages.

After everything is off your card, I would format it and then check it for errors. It is possible there is a bad sector that is causing things to hang.

First, I am always hesitant about buying used products from Amazon. Amazon doesn't own the product, hasn't seen the product, and is only collecting a commission for selling the product. Reviews and ratings are too easily manipulated to be reliable. New products might be safe, but I'm too wary about used.

My suggestion is to always buy from a reputable dealer. Yes, you may get something online from the big guys; Adorama, B&H, Roberts, etc. The biggest retailer of used camera equipment is KEH. These guys are pros and know what they are selling and have reputations to worry about. My favorite is to actually visit a bricks and mortar store that sells used equipment. They have guys that know what you need and can talk live to you. If you live in a large city that (hopefully) isn't a problem. (I bought my 70-200 f4, used, from Roberts in Indianapolis and couldn't be happier)

The Canon 50 1.8 is a decent lens and you will find uses. It can be used for a portrait lens, low light, etc. I would go for the 55-250 mm instead of the shorter lens. There will be many more times you want to zoom in on a subject than zoom out. A wider angle lens would be handier for indoor use and if you want to take large vistas. However, you would probably find the 55-250 works fine for most panoramas.

NOTE: You mention the EF 50 mm lens as having a 49 mm. That is the filter diameter. That is only important if you are attaching filters. Other kit lenses usually use a 58 mm filter. That means if you want to use a polarizer or lens hood you will need to buy them in each size and can't just switch the filter.

Canon's EF 100 f2.8 Macro for ~$600 (160 mm equivalent on the T5)

EF-S 60 f2.5 Macro for ~$400 (95 mm equivalent)

I would suggest a longer lens. That way you may set up a display with your lights, background, etc and still have freedom to change your subject. I would also use a static tripod so your display will remain constant without having to recalibrate your focus and lighting every time.

I would suggest that if you need a faster shutter then boost your ISO.

Very impressive.

Two things I would add; If you are a parent, don't be too greedy. Take lots of shots of everyone. The assistant coach, trainer, bench warmers, etc are team players too. Unless someone asks not to have their picture taken.

Don't post embarrassing shots, especially of the coach.

Thanks for sharing.

My preference is for #1. However, I would have cropped out the foreground as you did in one of your others.

The problem with your B&W is the tones are so similar. B&W needs some part of the image to stand out and because of the lack of difference here, nothing stands out. Work arounds could have included shooting at different times of the day to get different light angles and times of the year for snow, colored leaves, etc. BUT, that is a lot of personal taste and you go with what ya got at that moment.

If allowed I would try to get some closeups. Old weathered wood texture can be very interesting, especially with the faded paint and the field stone foundation can be nice, both in B&W as well as color.

Old barns and sheds can be very interesting and are a favorite of mine. I ask permission if I can get close to shoot them, taking pains to point out that I am an amateur and it is for my own satisfaction. While I do get turned down occasionally, usually I get permission.

A last suggestion would have been to use a polarizer filter. That would have given the colors a deeper feel that post editing can't do. The shot was done around noon, when the sun is harshest.

I thank you for sharing and a reminder that my opinion and $1.19 gets you a 20oz coffee at the Family Express gas station.

As much as I love antique autos, I hate shooting them because the conditions always seem so cramped and the lighting never cooperates. You though did a great job.
