I assumed, since there are digital backs for Hasselblad, that they were 2 1/4....So, I learned something...So, "Medium Format" isn't what it used to be...I'm
beginning to understand why there's not much on here about Medium Format...Way more cost, the sensor size differential isn't as large as it once was..
Thanks for the replys...

Sorry I wasn't clear enough...I used reference to my Canon DSLR to let you
know I was talking about digital Hasselblad, not the film camera.

I was alway envious of the Hasselblad folks....saw their ultra sharp photos and enlargements..envious!
I bought a Kowa 66...way less expensive, but reviews said the optics were excellent.
Thought it would be a burden to carry around, but surprisingly, that size camera is so close to the SLR 35s that
I never felt burdened. Took some nice photos...because it seemed like a special camera to me, I seemed to be
a better photographer with it. The logical progression would be a Hasselblad instead of the large Canon DSLR I
have now....but I've been unable to pull the $$ trigger. I think the same thing has happened to the folks on this
site...I never see words about medium format challenges/problems/triumphs. Is it because of cost..hard to
believe because many of you have released a list of your lenses in present ownership...and you have lots of $$$ involved..
Is it because of the idea that that format is just too large to handle? Is it because of the lack of innumerable
control features that the DSLRs have? Is it because this site devoted to 35mm? Someone needs to post some
nice medium format photos....maybe even comparisons of the same scenes...I for one would love to see
if there is still a difference...and how much the difference is...Thanks...

I bet by a year from now, your more likely question would be, "mirrorless vs traditional?"
Since you're starting out now, I would go visit a nice camera store and look hard at mirrorless,
because there is also a size-of-camera-consideration, sharpness and color being equal.

This was in the garage....If I had an attic, the world would never run out of supplies of anything..
Also, thanks pounder..I don't know how much time I want to invest...it all seems so old....kinda like, "dead"..to me,
but I know there are folks that rebuild old ham radios, old cameras, old telephones, old slot machines, etc..

Just discovered in my garage:
Canon F1 FD50mm 1.4 Has separate Powerwinder FN with battery stuck within it, don't know how damaged it is
Auto Vivitar 28mm F2.8
Canon Macro FL 50mm 3.5 (30003)
Life size adapter for Macro Canon (Have two of them)
Canon 50 mm FD 1.8
Tele extender
Canon FD 28mm 2.8
Canon FD 100mm 2.8
Canon AE1 "Program" FD 50.. 1.8
Canon TL body

Advice for this would be nice...or if anyone is interested...

All thought to be lost in a home move a few years ago.
Have no idea if someone is interested. I would think the bodies would need
some TLC with a camera repair shop, although they SEEM to be ok with all the disuse...

I just use a Slik collapsable monopod.. carbon fiber..hold it right under the camera...extend it when you want a little extra stability.

Sharpest seems to me to be #2...colors are semi-subjective, and subject to you type of computer, the state of your own lenses (cataracts?), etc..

Started long ago, Canon Pellix, was my second Canon..

Never been without some good cameras since then..some periods with a Kowa 6..sometimes with a rangefinder.
Now though, I'm finally tired of carting around all the stuff....heavy, large lenses, big cameras, big camera cases. Go to the beach, worried about the huge lump of equipment sitting there..
Last several trips I, "took my iPhone" as a camera, again, just didn't want to lug all the weight and theft target...

Looked at the Sony mirrorless...held it in my hands with the 50mm1.8....seemed tiny.
Damn thing shoots quality with anything out there.....so I'm thinking my Canon 6 and the lenses, are
soon to be out in the world of used equipment. The only thing that would make me wait is if someone
out there could promise me a Canon equivalent within a year.....and that's not looking good right now.

Small has always worked. Just could never find it. Now I have, I feel like I'm abandoning an old friend in Canon.
Yes, I've owned Nikon, but just opted to stay with Canon for subjective reasons....I would feel the same about Nikon right now
as I do Canon...they are now, to me, "the fat boys", who have really been slow to change.

If anyone has wonderful news that would hold up my turnover time....let me know!

I like this site!
