I agree with you on this much ‘babbled’ topic. Deleting on any media cards and corrupting the card is so rare that I will do it, not on a card that is almost full, but otherwise not a problem if done occasionally and limited. Best procedure is always format in camera before reusing. Silly to delete all image files, one at a time, when preparing to reuse, better to format whole card as the VTOC (Visual Table Of Contacts) is pristine rebuilt (and this is good). And the VTOC tells the card where to save the inputted photo files... Just a thought, of what actually happens in media cards or any digital (dasd) storage device...

How deleting one photo record that might corrupt, is a long-ish discussion and probably boring to most, so i’ll Stop lecturing (habit of an ex-photography instructor)...

13X19 inches nicely covers the format of most images taken and the correct PPI for an ink jet printer is 240 PPI. If printing from outside printing company, find out how many lines per inch their printers do. Then ‘printer lines per inch’ times 2 = correct PPI (best PPI) resolution for a quality printed image. Most commercial printers therefore are probably best res’ed to 300 PPI for best printed quality as 150 lines per inch is pretty standard... this is the scientific way to get the best image quality, but 300 PPI on most printers will probably get you an expectable photo... your call.

Find out it the safari River/Jeeps provide sand bags set your cameras on during. Then try to get your vehicle partners to not jump around while shooting.... usually tripods are not allowed and clumsy to use unless in a van type vehicle mainly used for those there on special photo shooting events.... have fun!

BUT Cuba is about cars and places. They even warned you about shooting street people and how to do it - long lens no good here usually. I used my 24-70 f2.8 and will post a few samples as promised yesterday (wife got my in several home tasks and forgot!!). Usually my go to is a 28-300 and rarely miss a shot, but this is a short trip to CUBA.... just trying to help. Stu Parr

Got back from a week (actually only 4 full days of shooting and seeing sights) in Havana using my Nikon 24-70 f2.8 on my D810 body. Got great cars and whatever my wife wanted me to record without wanting another lens. I don’t really think you need more than one lens down there unless the Cuban government let’s shoot their country for a money paying client or stock sales... (Well, maybe a small ‘bridge’ camera.. just a thought...!

If it is a friends photo I might give it a “like”, but it it is an unusually good image I will usually comment (on a friend’s excellent image I might add a personal quip or question). I enjoy looking a excellent photo images... just a thought!

120 is the largest a few screens can produce. That said, I usually Res to 120 and resize to 8X10 inches as that will allow most monitors to display readable text and a emailable size file to be sent...

I use Red River Papers for 3 reasons: 1- Quality and variety of papers ( they are EXCELLENT), 2- they provide ICC files for all their papers for your printer brand and model, 3- very good customer service if and when you need some assistance. Otherwise use the paper your printer company sells as their ICC files are installed when you loaded the printer drivers... Goid luck. Sounds like a fun project!

In 2014 we entered Saigon city on the first day of Tet Holiday in 2014 and it was great fun. Hope ya have as much fun and see as interesting things as we did. “just a nagg!!”, lighter is better. At least take only 2 lenses - your favorite if over 80mm and then a wider zoom and you’ll do great...
