Geez folks, chill out! As folks become more intolerant of questions not being the ones they think should be asked, or them not being asked in just the right way, this is becoming an increasingly unpleasant and unhelpful forum.

If we all could take a beat and only respond if we have something constructive, and considerate to say, wouldn’t this be a more useful and enjoyable place to spend time?

To the OP, get whatever you need, want, can afford. Have absolutely no problem with your question. I got the R5 for its superior focusing accuracy, eye AF, in viewfinder histogram, etc. If these are important to you, you will be happy with it.

SIX is what you refer to as "YEARS"? This camera was introduced in Sept. 2016. That is not ancient history for too many others. Six years barely gets one into school in today's environment. I have a car 12 years old and it still runs very well. The answer to your question is a resounding "NO." Photography does not appear to be your motive here, getting the newest and latest is. A friend is a wedding shooter and uses a 5D Mk III. He is the busiest man I know and will use NO other body to shoot. He knows his equipment inside and out, and he specializes in that facet. Today's hobby-shooters think "upgrading" is based upon longevity, not knowledge of and user experience by that person. You make NO mention of getting the newest 5D series, the MkV!

Thank you. You're probably right. However, been shooting since 1991 (professionally since 2000).

If you don't like the comments, don't ask the question on a public forum. You certainly don't need TO YELL ABOUT IT.

Many people find owning just one full frame DSLR to be well beyond their means. To hear someone has two of Canon's best, and along with one of their best cropped-bodies, and they're asking to a random online community whether they should buy still another, well that really isn't going to fly with everyone. One should not be so obtuse as to be unaware of this possibility as they wander around in their online PJs.

Last time I checked, this was a FREE country. I can take the comments but refused to acknowledge the arrogance of some people who feel they need to police public forums to validate there existence and self-importance. I strongly suggest you refrain from monitoring/policing this site and be more useful by replying to comments that ONLY CONCERN YOU. You seem to be quite knowledgeable and offer good technical advice. I suggest you keep it that way.

You shouldn't ask the question but since you asked the answer is yes. You should buy the R5 and all the RF lenses needed.

I should ask the question. Here is where I can ask questions,,,,,,,,,and get ANSWERS. Just wanted to survey the members of this site.

Been shooting with a canon 5dm4 for years. Thinking about purchasing the Canon R5. Should I or shouldn't I? Currently do various events but love landscape and macro. Also, own a 7dm2 and 5dm3.

Affinity is king. Didn't understand masking until I started using Affinity. Found it to be very simple. After using Affinity masking feature, I found Photoshop masking to be much easier.

Yes Maik723 - it's in Mountainside, right off Route 22 Eastbound. Well worth a visit.

Thanks. I often go there in the fall to shoot. Nice place to shoot. Neighboring Warinaco Park is also nice. Check it out!

I'm using BorrowLens.com to rent a telephoto lens.
I already own a Nikkor 70-200 2.8, but I'm contemplating renting something with more reach (not knowing the field/parent restrictions)
I am torn between these two....any suggestions?
1. Nikon 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6G AF-S ED VR Lens - about $130
2. Nikon 200-500mm f/5.6E AF-S ED VR Lens - about $80

My thought was #1 is kind of doubling up on the focal length I already have, but may save me from switching lens.
Then again, #2 can get me across the field more (as I dont know what seating will be like)

Thoughts?

I'm currently sorting through my photography related items. I'm coming across little things I'm happy I purchased/own.

Below is an example. Camera Wise was a collectible book series. From memory I think you purchased an issue a week. Took a long time to buy them all and I did manage to not miss a single issue. It's old, dates back to film days but just flicking through it there is masses of content. Kinda happy I collected it and still have it.

Any little bits of photography related items that you are really happy you have for whatever reason?
