I want to thank all UHH members that replied. My collection of lens are inexpensive. TC can be used but the results will be
nearly unusable. Best I ask a better question, what is the best
everyday walk around lens for a D7100 that can be used with a TC. TC recommendations. I've been using a

I agree 100%. I wonder if we will ever see these at Home Depot? I think they would sell. I think the hinge in the picture could be a collectors item.

I had to go through the learning curve and now I know you are exactly right about what is needed. No more "baby sitting" of the camera---what a vast improvement. Thanks again

FYI: What I have learned so far is when you start a interval timing project that may take days to complete start with an AC adapter. It is near impossible to get the camera back in the same position after battery swap. I don't know what will happen to the ET video when the transition to different camera physical location is encountered, maybe minimal but I will get an AC adapter and not have to attend the camera. This battery swap is a pain and has to have a negative effect to the ET video.
You, no doubt, have encountered this situation---but just in case
it can be of some help. Thanks again for your comments.

Thanks. I'm trying an Interval timing setup and it appears when the first battery is drained the camera doesn't automatically go to the second battery. When I charge the grip battery it takes just a few minutes to full charge vs normal approx 25 min. I'll try the setup that uses the grip battery first. Thanks again for your comments.

I have added a second battery to my D7100, does the camera automatically drain both batteries or must I select this option somewhere. Thanks in advance

Update: Decided to use manual mode and revised setup and disabled flash. I have led style bulbs. Works like a charm. Am doing more frequent shots and upped count to 800. We shall see what the bloom looks like in the AM. Quality of shots look much better without the flash. I'll not use my first 140 shots.

I want to thank all UHH that posted a reply. I am making progress. The first bloom is now about 25% full, I'm going to revise my setting, change batteries etc bring lighting to a level where flash is not required. I have approx 110 shots with flash on the set of fully charged batteries and swapped out last evening. I'm going to shorten the time between shots and raise the shot count. I'll get a fresh start on the second bloom. I've had as many as 4 blooms per stalk so I'm anxious to see what this bulb will produce. I may need to set the shot count to 1000 or so for multiple blooms.

Thanks for that info, quite a bit longer than I recall but my memory is not to be trusted. I'll try my lights tonight and see if
the flash still fires. I don't have studio lighting fixtures but I might by tomorrow this time. I altered my shot count to 300 and will use 800 for bloom #2. Thanks again for your comments.

Thanks for your comments. The unknown is how long will it take from partial bloom to full bloom. Last year I awakened to a full bloom overnight so I was hoping to get 8 hours of shots at 10 min intervals. I hope tonight is not like last year but I'm giving it a try and we shall see what the morning will bring. I can add some lighting and try and eliminate the flash. There are two stalks on this plant and the second bloom in about 5 days behind. I'll get a second chance. I have a clock behind the bloom to show the time/bloom info.
