Got some good suggestions for improvements so please tell me if you think this is any better. Darkened subjects a little and got rid of some of the skin blotchiness. I will also post the original to show what I was working with which was a good picture with a lot of background clutter so I just wanted to try something new that I hadn't done before. Let me know if this edit looks any better.

I like this one better.......with the darkened subjects......print it.

Thanks photophly...given your portrait background I appreciate your comments.

I like it! I'm also a fan of HDR. I agree with everyone else I bit darker for details!

Thanks Pellwanger. I like some HDR when not over the top. I reposted in another thread and darkened a little and cleaned up the blotchiness. I think it looks better.

I was born and raised in Pgh so I'm very familiar with South Park. I lived in Dormont area, went to South Catholic HS. Had a lot of good times at South Park growing up.

This was a color shot at a table on the beach with a lot of busy background. Edited in CS5 with some HDR tone mapping and selective dodging. I'd like to print an 8x10 for these friends but wanted to get some opinions. Thanks for taking a look.

Interesting and well done.But I would bleach the upper left and right corners.

Thanks for comments Ivan...would you use the dodge tool or a white brush for that? I reposted with a few improvements in another thread and include original.

Billy, you are talking to a guy with a very low PP proficiency.I would try to clone the white area to cover the "dirty" corners.

Ivan I think FOTOSTAN jumped our conversation and did a quote rather than quote/reply. That wasn't my comment to you.

I am aware of that, my comment was for FOTOSTAN.

Hey Ivan...I'll take your proficiency with the camera any day over PP proficiency. You know I couldn't see the dirty corners on my PC screen but I looked again on my IPAD and there it was. Thanks for catching that before I printed.
quote=alaskan quote=billyzee quote=alaskan quo... (show quote)

Well it is a matter of monitor calibration.On mine the "dirty" corners show quite a bit.
quote=billyzee quote=alaskan quote=billyzee qu... (show quote)

Thanks...I'll check my monitor. It might be making things look lighter than they are since it didn't pick up the dirty corners.

not going to start one of "those" threads FOTOSTAN. I was actually enjoying our little back and forth thing but now you had to go and get serious. Life's too short. It is time to get out of your dark room. Cheer up!

Okay, it seem we have some people hear with more then just Photography as an interest.

So, this thread is for the hunter, hunted, fish and fishers, or just any kind of out door type sport.

Please post your picture and the one with the biggest fish tale wins. None of that " it got away stuff" we need proof.

So you caught that down in da parish. I'm impressed with you, the Red and the light tackle.

My new longer lens(AF-S Nikkor 55-300mm 4.5-5.6 G ED VR) arrived a few days ago. I took my first shots with it this morning. Both shots were set at 1/500 f/11 ISO 200. The first shot was hand held with VR and the second shot was on a tripod, no VR.

The hand held shot looks as good as the tripod shot. Good job.

Getting close to nesting birds is not easy. Or is it? All these photos where taken within 5 feet of the birds. The 3rd shot is not great because I am holding my finger in front of the lens to prove the point!
