Vern nice. I love the tiles on the dome. They look regular on one side and more random on the other. Beautiful color. Nice HDR work; it doesn't look overdone. I might have cropped the red wall in the foreground.

Excellent, Pierre. I suppose that like most birds, this is a male decked out to attract the fairer sex.

It might be interesting to try to take the exact same scene with the same lens but different bodies. And compare file types jpeg fine, raw.

I was a in the Air Force stationed in Loring AFB and I was a Jet Engine Mech on B52 & KC135 now there is a plane that would do some talking with its cloths of the Buff ... Ohh that was the day when a wind up of 8 J57 engines would wake you up for sure ... Lift off were almost flat that was a sight to see.

I was stationed at Loring too. When I think about how cold it is here in Connecticut, I can't complain compared to northern Maine.

Great photos! It's a challenge to take pictures of these aircraft in a museum setting with aircraft wedged in together, limited angles, ugly lighting, people stepping into the frame, etc.

And there's few things more beautiful than a fighter.

I will second this advice. Particularly, the suggestion about scheduling the session when the child is well rested. That is not always a hard and fast time slot. Sometimes, you just have to admit that it's not going to work.

I have rarely had trouble with the kids, but frequently with parents or other interfering adults who try to manipulate the children. A careful instruction with adults present is needed before starting to shoot. As with all other portraiture, complete familiarity with your equipment is essential, and means for distracting the subject (child) and keeping them happy and occupied. Schedule the shoot at time when the child is well rested. Sleepiness is impossible to overcome.

Thanks, I enjoy hearing some background about taking the photo and how other photographers think.

I've been so busy at work the past few weeks, I haven't been able to pick up my camera. We've also had several bouts of snow the past few weeks with more forecast for Saturday.

I know it's trite, but the sun was just setting as I got home and I was able to take these pictures of the setting sun with just a few clouds on the horizon. I was trying to get the ice on the trees but that really didn't come out.

Three shots plus and minus 2.0 ev on my NEX 7, processed in Photmatrix Pro 5.0 and lightroom for cropping.
