That sounds like a lot of fun. I will definitely have that at the top of my list the next time I go to the BA.

It was an exciting day. Definitely contact Hersel before visiting. He's the most genuine and generous person I've been proud to meet, especially in NYC.

I wanted to let everyone know what an amazing day I had in NYC yesterday, August 2, especially at B&H. The person I have to thank is Hersel because he took time out of his day to show my mother and myself around the store of B&H. And when I mean the store, I mean everything. From the backend, which we never see, customer service area where phone calls are answered to the floor where all the code for the website is written. It was truly unbelievable. After we walked though the floors were hundreds of people work, who we never get to see, for B&H, Hersel took his time and showed us throughout the entire store. I couldn't have asked for a more gracious tour guide or a much more knowledgeable one. Not only did I solve my tremendous GAS attack in buying an Olympus Pen-F and a couple of lenses, I was provided with a tour only a fellow photographer and B&H admirer could love and understand. So anyone living or visiting NYC this is a must stop and visit Hersel along with satisfying some needed GAS relief. Thanks again Hersel I very much enjoyed our visit yesterday and my only regret is I don't live closer. See you next time I'm in town.

Hello from beautiful Bucks County, PA. It's been a while since I've been a member of any forum. I'm Suzanne (suziemaus) and I am a beginner. Learning, learning, learning and probably not practicing enough. I have a Canon T2i Rebel and am using PS Elements (13?) and Picasa for editing, as well as some phone apps. My favorite smartphone apps are Toolwiz and Snapseed (for Android, not iPhone). Looking forward to getting to know you, getting some tips, inspiration, and feedback. I am mostly interested macro, landscape, and the like. Not really interested in portraits. That's it for now. Thanks! :)

Welcome to the forum. You'll find many members willing to help, answer questions and point you in the right direction when you're in need. There's also a search feature at the top of the page on the top line under the title that's a great resource you should definitely utilize. You're in a great area of PA for photography. I'm down that way a couple of times a year, my dad lives in Birdsboro and I love exploring when I'm there to get some unique pictures.

You'll love the Hog and all it has to offer. I usually check in with the Latest Digest in the morning to see what's on everyone's mind. Some days can be quite interesting and other days not so much, but you'll always find something new to learn about.

Enjoy your time, shoot lots of photos and share a few when you can and welcome again.

I have theories of why they trash Obama to defend Trump. 1. Nothing could be said to defend him so they try to change the conversation to how bad Obama was or 2. (see #1)

That's what I was thinking.

You can't be serious....after 8 years of Obama, you have the balls to post something like that? That's a special kind of stupid.

I believe Mike's right on the money. BTW, we are discussing Trump not Obama, so please stop bringing him into Trump postings or conversations. Why is it every time we try and bring up or discuss Trump and his presidency, do Trump supporters mention Obama? Are you that insecure with Tump as president or worried regarding his presidency? I'm asking seriously, not trying to be a wise ass, I truly don't understand the reasoning.

Many thanks to ArtzDarkroom for pointing this post out; I post the entire article to increase readership. Read about Obama's Eight Years, and Wish For More....

Quoted below:

8 years of suffering under Barack Obama

The sentence I hear most from well-meaning, conservative friends since President Trump’s election is this: “We suffered 8 years under Barack Obama.”

Fair enough. Let’s take a look.

The day Obama took office, the Dow closed at 7,949 points. Eight years later, the Dow had almost tripled.

General Motors and Chrysler were on the brink of bankruptcy, with Ford not far behind, and their failure, along with their supply chains, would have meant the loss of millions of jobs. Obama pushed through a controversial, $8o billion bailout to save the car industry. The U.S. car industry survived, started making money again, and the entire $80 billion was paid back, with interest.

While we remain vulnerable to lone-wolf attacks, no foreign terrorist organization has successfully executed a mass attack here since 9/11.

Obama ordered the raid that killed Osama Bin Laden.

He drew down the number of troops from 180,000 in Iraq and Afghanistan to just 15,000, and increased funding for the Department of Veterans Affairs.

He launched a program called Opening Doors which, since 2010, has led to a 47 percent decline in the number of homeless veterans.

He set a record 73 straight months of private-sector job growth.

Due to Obama’s regulatory policies, greenhouse gas emissions decreased by 12%, production of renewable energy more than doubled, and our dependence on foreign oil was cut in half.

He signed The Lilly Ledbetter Act, making it easier for women to sue employers for unequal pay.

His Omnibus Public Lands Management Act designated more than 2 million acres as wilderness, creating thousands of miles of trails and protecting over 1,000 miles of rivers.

He reduced the federal deficit from 9.8 percent of GDP in 2009 to 3.2 percent in 2016.

For all the inadequacies of the Affordable Care Act, we seem to have forgotten that, before the ACA, you could be denied coverage for a pre-existing condition and kids could not stay on their parents’ policies up to age 26.

Obama approved a $14.5 billion system to rebuild the levees in New Orleans.

All this, even as our own Mitch McConnell famously asserted that his singular mission would be to block anything President Obama tried to do.

While Obama failed on his campaign pledge to close the prison at Guantanamo Bay, that prison’s population decreased from 242 to around 50.

He expanded funding for embryonic stem cell research, supporting groundbreaking advancement in areas like spinal injury treatment and cancer.

Credit card companies can no longer charge hidden fees or raise interest rates without advance notice.

Most years, Obama threw a 4th of July party for military families. He held babies, played games with children, served barbecue, and led the singing of “Happy Birthday” to his daughter Malia, who was born on July 4.

Welfare spending is down: for every 100 poor families, just 24 receive cash assistance, compared with 64 in 1996.

Obama comforted families and communities following more than a dozen mass shootings. After Sandy Hook, he said, “The majority of those who died today were children, beautiful little kids between the ages of 5 and 10 years old.”

Yet, he never took away anyone’s guns.

He sang Amazing Grace, spontaneously, at the altar.

He was the first president since Eisenhower to serve two terms without personal or political scandal.

He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

President Obama was not perfect, as no man and no president is, and you can certainly disagree with his political ideologies. But to say we suffered?

If that’s the argument, if this is how we suffered for 8 years under Barack Obama, I have one wish: may we be so fortunate as to suffer 8 more exactly like it.

Italics at the end are mine.

Thank you for reminding me how we suffered under President Obama. It nice to read some positives rather than all the negative squabbling for a change. And, no he wasn't perfect, but as you stated no man or president ever has been or will ever be.

B&H has always served my family and me well. If there was an issue they were quick to respond and act accordingly to ensure we were always satisfied and happy. As others have stated, without exceptional customer service any business is bound to suffer if not fail and B&H's customer service, for me, has always gone above and beyond what was expected. They are the company I turn to when in need of photography equipment. I live in NY, about 90 miles north of the city, and whether ordering through the internet or driving to their store I consider having to pay the taxes on my purchases well worth the price of the service I receive.

Ahh, the language of a 16 year old, how does it feel to relive your youth. I never said it was unfair and hanestly could care less--go back to trash talking your others reliving your childhoods through language your fathers would have probably slapped the shit out of you for using, especially towards a female, unless he was as insecure as you ass holes are.

Not at all unhappy, quite the opposite. I have no complaints about the regular sections of the Hog until it begins two become disrespectful like the Attic as your post was earlier. There was no excuse to yell at the poster.

The mug photos are getting old. Those that continually need to post it have some real insecurities about the President. One day you'll wake up and the mug's meggage will read, "I love when I wake up and Donald Duck is still President." Not only would it be accurate but laughable as well. Get over yourselves, everyone knows he's the President, but that doesn't mean everyone has to like it. Similar to the last eight years. Not everyone liked President Obama, but we made it through only to be replaced with an orange crush.

What I don't understand is why is she there to begin with, trump should be attending these meetings. The country didn't elect her, heis the president or did he need a nap from the long flight.
