One thought is that you would have IS turned off on tripod.

I have the f4.0L and like it a lot. But, will upgrade to 2.8 when my budget allows.

I have just recently discovered this section in the forum and am absolutley amazed and what you people are doing. I am new to photography and a complete newbie when it comes to PP. Until recently I have been only using iPhoto. I did buy Lightroom 5.6, but am ashamed to say that I have not learned to use it yet. Although I have just joined a class at the local community college, so hope to remedy that. I was hoping that you very talented people could fix this photo for me. I did try but was not very successful. I would like the people removed and the photo made prettier. Sorry it is only a JPG image, as when I first started shooting I couldn't understand why the RAW images were coming out "duller" than the JPG, so I deleted all the RAW photos that I shot and continued with JPG. I know pretty silly hey! But I've changed my settings in my camera to RAW + JPG and now I am keen to learn. Oh, my camera is D7100 and the photo was taken at mid day - not the best of time, and it's straight out of the camera. I would appreciate any improvements and you have my permission to change and post. Many thanks.

Sorry that happened. What tripod was it.

Older cheap Velbon that I bought many years ago and only used here around the house. And, I did lock the slider clamp for the legs. Had it slip a little before when shooting out the window but, forgot about that. Should have trashed it then.

Thanks all,

Thanks for all the "sympathy"
I'll know next week if I have to make plea for donations.. lol

I do miss the lens already. As soon as I learn the cost, I'll be searching for new tripod.

Thanks again ,

I was going out to photo the moon last night. Set my tripod in hall way while I go jacket. Leg clamp on cheapo tripod slipped and all fell. My 70-200 F4 L broke off the camera. Shipped it off to Canon "not exactly in tact". Camera seems ok.

ANOTHER lesson learned...ugghh

Very nice photo shot. What does that sign mean "Thank you for your custom"? I use "custom" as a way of doing something over a long period of time. Is the a British meaning different or additional meanings?

Definitely interesting components of this photo.

Thank you,

you chose the perfect subject to demonstrate how much clarity, resolution and dynamic range is missing on a phone/camera.

All these answer the scenario of recomposing with the camera (focus or metering) so, what then is the "recompose" in photoshop? Looks more like a crop to highlight a particular element to me.
