Lots of good advice here already. The question would be how large is large for the prints you want to make? For what it’s worth I have both the Canon Pro100 which is good for up to 13 x 19 and the Epson P800 which is good for up to 17 x 22 . The Epson is much more expensive and unless you want to print the largest size prints I wouldn’t spend that money again. Both have wonderful quality prints. I spend up to two months at a time at our place in Arizona so wanted a less expensive printer there. Thus the Canon pro 100. The concern I had was leaving the Canon printer unused in a 90° house for five months at a time over the summer. However when I got back this fall the printer still worked like a charm! I just left the printer in a cooler dark room and put wet paper towels in sealed baggie’s with the in cartridges. I use the third-party precision colours ink and they are a bit of a hassle to get all of the cartridges ready to be refilled but once you get past all of that they work just as good as the original Canon Ink.
