Another thing to consider would be an auto-feed scanner. Pricing ranges from inexpensive to killer. Ofttimes you can find them used, but still in good condition, very inexpensively.
You'd have to feed the prints one at a time but it would still be much faster than using a flatbed scanner.

A couple of fellow UHHers challenged me on a couple of matters. First, I stated that Ansel Adams would probably use digital photography and post processing if he were around today. I was rightfully challenged since AA is no longer around to agree or disagree. Then I came across a book by one Michael Frye entitled Digital Landscape Photography: In the Footsteps of Ansel Adams and the Great Masters. In that book he quotes Adams as saying, "I am sure the next step will be the electronic image and I hope I shall live to see it. I trust that the creative eye will continue to function, whatever technological innovations may develop."

Though the 5D Mark II has focusing screens made for it, the Mark III does not. Though this company in Taiwan alters a few Canon screens to fit the Mark III: http://www.focusingscreen.com/privacy.php Has anyone tried this? I'm thinking now of keeping the Zeiss lens and changing the screen.

The Zeiss Planar lenses are not the lenses of choice for every shooter. They are , by today's standards, very difficult to use. They are fully manual, NO AF1. That fact alone sets the lens apart from most others. Many shooters today have no patience for manual focus. When used properly there are no more precise lenses on the market. You might try replacing the focus screen in your MkIII. That solution was what allowed me to get comfortable with manual focus lens. My original SLR had a split-screen type focus and allowed very precise focusing. It really made a big change for me to replace the screen in my 1Dx. It also made a huge difference in shooting macro. I appreciate AF but there are times when stock screens just don't make the grade. "Tack shape" is not synonymous with AF, it requires much work. You are working with both a great camera body and lens. You might look into a new screen, they cost only about $40.00, and are easy to change. GL

I was high bidder at $19.50 on eBay for this conglomeration of lenses, flash units and some odds and ends, all in a nice JC Penny's leather camera bag. When it arrived Wednesday, I was stunned! It contained a very nice Pentax-DA 18-55mm lens (metal mount w/ quick shift), a superbly sharp JC Penny's 28mm lens, a pristine Pentax-M 50mm f:2.0 lens, a nice JC Penny's 135mm lens, a Vivitar 2x Auto tele-converter and two functioning flash units.

I love it when this happens!

Good list SS but much of what I chose was frame rate and even with owning a 5DIII and having an amazing autofocus I decided againt it because of the 6 frames/sec limitation.

Agreed. For sports FPS is king which leads to one of the 1D or 7D iterations.
