Can anyone please identify the species of this bird? Thank you.

Could be either Forster's or Common Tern.

Identification appreciated.

That looks like Scorpionfly to me. They are in the Order Mecoptera. I have seen them on occasion and they usually have a turned up posterior that resembles a scorpion. Hope this helps

Hello all,

I am new to this site and basically new to photography as well. I have used a D60 for a few years (seldom took photos) and decided to upgrade to a D7100 last week. Every photo I try to take looks blurry when I am looking through the eye piece. However, the photo turns out fine. Is this normal? It drives me crazy.
I have used a couple different lenses and they both do the same thing. (Nikon 35mm f/1.8 and the Nikon 85mm f/1.4)

Have you tried the diopter correction by the viewfinder. This will help correct for your eyes. The camera's autofocus seems to be doing its job to deliver a sharp image. It's a thought.

I have two decent camera stores in Chicago (a metropolitan area of over 7 million people), that are still open. Helix and Calumet are gone, as is Shutan. Ritz ans Wolf have combined and there are very few, and carry only Canon, Nikon, Olympus, a few Fujifilm point and shoots, and a few Pentax.
The only two are Central Camera and Dodd Camera. Phototronics is extremely sparsely stocked, and are strictly Nikon keeners. I'm interested in hearing what you all have locally that keeps their doors open, as opposed to B&H, Adorama, etc.; btw, nothing wrong with the latter, just asking about the LOCAL brick and mortar, and your opinions.

This was taken shortly after sunrise before a storm blew in. Hope it fits the thread. Good idea, by the way and excellent shots.

It's been a long, cold, snowy winter here in Milwaukee. I'm tired of watching the critters at my backyard feeders, so I dug up some old friends to help break my cabin fever.

Since you like giraffes I am sending you a couple of pics as a gift.

Please add 1 personal favorite of a B&W landscape shot..
Let's show the beauty of the land around us and how many things we can miss with the distraction of color.... Only 1 please, because these open threads can get very overwhelming very fast... :)

This is my first post ever. Thought I will give it a try.
