I have been to antelope twice it was way too busy the second visit we went on a photographic tour but visitors were constantly walking in front of my camera leading to blurred images the magic had gone in the chase of the dollar. This was not in the high season so getting a vacancy on a tour was easy, just way too busy. We visited Rattlesnake canyon on the same tour which was much nicer being very quiet

Subscribe to a photography magazine and all you get is repeats of a year ago . No real thinking behind them just keep churning out the same old articals in many cases using the same old photos, add 60% adverts and a load of biased reviews why waste your money. In so many cases they gloss over short falls with comments like distortion and chromatic aberrations can be removed in post processing then mark the item very high quality, all to keep on good terms with the advertisers

a think tank holster would do you. The pop down extender for long lenses would take the extra lens I think, carry it shoulder strap, or on your belt

I think there was simply too much movement going on in the scene (wave movement especially) for any of the HDR programs to handle the alignment of images properly.

Oftentimes local editing can generate superior results than HDR. The better your skills are with layer manipulation and the various local selection and brush tools, the less you will feel the need to use HDR software to achieve the final image you want.

Not too much movement in the scene unless the waves are moving the bridge and gard railings

Chances are you will be taking photos from inside a car/safari vehicle, a tripod will be a waste of time get a monopod and take a bean bag empty and fill it on arrival, the D500 and 400 mm lens unless you are going to Namibia in which case the 70-200 mm and tele converter for occational use .(you get much closer to the animals in Entosha)
Best if you can take 2 bodies as it will be dusty and lens changing is not advised

Doubt you will have time even on a photography tour to mess with 2 cameras. You get chased through ans have to shoot around loads and loads of non photography visitors who seem to enjoy walking in front of you just as you press the shutter, it is not the magical place it once was
