Hi 3kids3cats,
I have purchased several 'renewed' items from Amazon and so far, all without a single glitch. Both my son and daughter have each bought a computer (renewed), and they are completely satisfied. It seems, so far Amazon's claim is true and with the long warranty offer for returns, it's been quite a secure way to purchase from them.
The computer we just received last Friday came with the box taped up with 'Microsoft' tape, so not sure if it was 'renewed' by them or not but as stated, so far, not a glitch has been discovered in any of our purchases.
Good Luck,
God Bless,
Papa Joe

I chuckle as I read your comments about AI:O)
Each of course is entitled to their own opinion, and I respect yours, but I think (way) back when I was with our local newspaper when 'auto-focus' was coming in strong. Most reporters/photographers referred to it instead as 'OUT of Focus':O)
Then there was that 'new' process -- Digital! "No way it will EVER equal FILM!" :o)

New things can seem threatening but we continue learning more and more with each innovation, like it or not.
A forum in my opinion should consist of a variety of topics/subjects - pro & con- to be considered and discussed.
Just my two-cents worth,

That's a good 'standard' rule to be guided by but I've made exceptions more than once and ended up with fine results. Of course, the distance they will be viewed from is an important factor. Many years ago I had a landscape photo which I took using a little 5 meg pocket camera, blown up into a three foot wide wall mount and it turned out surprisingly good - gaining many favorable comments. Take a chance on one and YOU be the judge on how presentable they are.

Sunsetpar,.... too old? It's my opinion that only YOU can really know the answer to that. You've received much helpful 'shooting' advice from many so I won't go into that in-depth, but I can, from experience respond concerning the 'too old' aspect.
AGE in itself really isn't the main factor, is it? In my opinion it's the drive, incentive, desire - call it what you will, that motivates us... that's what counts. My opinion: don't try 'cramming' all you mentioned just before your Brazil trip. Don't let it preoccupy your attention so much that it can spoil what can otherwise be a fun, rewarding 'get-away' event.

If you have the facilities, go ahead and shoot both JPG and RAW, knowing that when you return home, you can THEN begin the learning process of editing. It's not something you learn in a crash-course just before a deadline.
Hopefully, you'll have plenty of time after your return to seriously get into that.

I'll be 89 years old in a few months and have been 'learning' about shooting, processing, etc. for years; the process never ends because there is always something new and interesting 'just around the bend'.
That, in itself has motivated me over the years. I enjoy 'editing' even more than shooting recently. Each person must decide his/her own interest and then go for it.

Go to Brazil and ENJOY yourself - that's the main thing! Learn editing later, based on your personal interest, but the main thing, make it FUN!

I have been successfully using ink from https://499inks.com/ for over five years for my elaborate HP printer with no ill effects. Great color. Good prices. No problem.

Can anyone suggests or have experience with companies that can print large posters, between 48" x 36 " - 60" x 48" I have a project with our fire department that needs large poster size prints.
THANK YOU

I had a large poster printed by Office Max several years ago. Not sure if they're still doing it but they did a good job then.

Nice images Sue. Hanging Lake has to be the most beautiful scene I've ever seen! My wife & I hiked up that 'path' many years ago before the incline pathway was improved. We had our three children with us and it took half a day to make the climb, but it was totally worth it! This was back in late 1960's. Then, there was a very simple small wood sign like an arrow, with "Hanging Lake" painted on it by this roadside rest area we pulled into. I understand now it's pretty commercialized compared to back then. I thought, 'This must be how the Garden of Eden' must have looked, when I first saw it. They explained that the boardwalk was brought there by Helicopters and a Boy Scout group did the work. Thanks for posting that picture. Brought back many happy memories!

I find '23' much the same as 20, etc. except for the 'motion' options, which are quite pleasing. It will create apparent motion to specific areas, such as water falls, rivers, etc. It does this by creating either .gif or .mp4 from your still photo. I'm an avid Elements user and appreciate all it's capable of.

Hi Folks,
I don't do a lot of posting these days, but I do enjoy the Hog every single day, without fail.
I just want to say I hope each and every one of you are well and able to enjoy this special time of the year, celebrating the Birth of our Savior, Jesus.
It's my prayer we all will keep much of this 'good will' atmosphere all through the year. What a better world it could make!
To each and every 'Hogger' and your family, I wish you a sincerely Happy and Healthy, Spirit filled Christmas.

God Bless,
Papa Joe

My wife and I gave up the wedding business, so my photography is now down to a couple of jobs a year, if that, for friends. I would like to find a good simple editing program for the least amount of money. I gave up Photoshop and Lightroom. Any suggestions?

Might I suggest Photoshop Elements. Very efficient editing software and you buy it outright... no renting or monthly payments. I used the full blown Photoshop for years, but find that Elements does all I need and then some. Worth trying.

Jederick,
So sorry to hear the sad news regarding your sister. You are in my prayers.
I also apologize for not having asked you first, but I took the liberty of removing the barbed wire from your very nice photo of the 'Father & Daughter'. Hope you don't mind.
God Bless,

After renting on of these for the fair, I've decided I want one, so I can get out and shoot more. As I drove through the neighborhood on Halloween I really wished I had one as there were so many photo op I was missing.

I've spent hours on the internet looking at videos and researching them. I'm curious if any of my fellow Hoggers have them and if so what there thoughts are.

Hi Jim,
Yes indeed, they can be a God-send! I've worn out two and am presently using a Pride (Victory) one I very much like. At my age, it enables me to travel so many places that I would otherwise never reach. Physical exercise is always the best, but when it's impossible or not practical, the 'scooter' comes to the rescue.
