Great Shot! Then what happened? Did the Eagle get the R/T in his talons?
I can't imagine the Hawk could have ever gotten loose if the Eagle had gotten a grip on him?
The only thing the Hawk had going was the inexperience of the youngster!?
I wish you could have continued to shoot even if the shots were not as good as the first few they would have been so unusual, rare and very unique!
You were certainly in the right place at the right time to witness one of the natures prime events! Very good work!!
Survival of the fittest, for sure.
Eagles have been known to snatch a young Sheep from it's mother's side and fly off with them!

I believe you meant prowess in lieu of proness? or maybe Osprey just lays down on the end of the Pier all the time to get these wonderful shots?
The dive is wonderful!

For me, your copyright and byline are far to large and stark as it overpowers your beautiful image! Otherwise, it is wonderful. JMHO!

No 2 is by far my favorite because of the composition. The
balance that allows the eye to follow the opening to the beach and then on out to the sea beyond completes the story beautifully!
Thanks for sharing and please keep up the very good work!

When I see the name Chokoloskee in the heading, I always know it's you.
I remember the trip from St. Pete back in the old days was always such a drive in my Grandfathers '48 Road Master because the skyway did not exist and we had to go around through Tampa.
Things were very primitive back then and the mosquitoes were so thick as there was nothing to retard their appetites
for human blood back in '48. Needless to say but. The entire trip had signs along the way waterfront property For Sale $49.00 per acre. I only wish we had not been so poor in those days?
The car was provided by his church in lieu of money, Grandpa Snow was a Pastor in a small church in St. Pete
The fishing was spectacular and wildlife were just thick It was a wonderland to behold! I believe we paid $5 or $6 a night to stay in a cabin somewhere down there?
We will have to relive some of those memories when we get together.
Again, thanks for the great photogrtaphs!

Hey Gregory:
It surely has been cold here also! sixty yesterday?
I had to find a jacket and a pair of jeans to replace my shorts! What is this world coming to? Where is Al Gore with his GLOBAL WORMING?
Could you please send the info to me on the motel again with the dates? I have misplaced the info you sent me previously. Ole Frank sent me a nice welcome note, also.
These are beautiful photographs of your wild friends!
I finally have shots of a Limpkin and a Little Green Heron that are worth showing you?
Warm Wishes,

The Crab happens to be a Hermit Crab which exchanges shells for a larger one as he grows. They pick up abandoned shells from the ocean floor and recycle as their home
I had one in my large saltwater tank and he was a riot to watch as he searched for a new more comfortable home to carry on his back
Great shots as I have never seen one in the wild!

They are all very good, but. the last hummer is almost as "sparkly" as You are!
Keep this good work up and you, most certainly, will be in good shape to chase the Raptors when they arrive.
Thx for sharing.

Very nice comp/color;
if I had the same opportunity to shoot this beautiful subject matter, I might want to try using a reflector screen to drive the light into the dark shadows between the berries. That should make the purple color more lustrous and define shapes better. And then after doing that, I may still prefer what you have done previously??
Just a thought?
Very nice with some slight adjustments on cropping?

Merry Texan: Very nice work!
The portrait of the Brown Thrush is wonderful, even though they are all very good work, he is my favorite!

I have a question? Why don't you place the birds I.D. above the birds photograph so the newbies can begin to learn their species? It can be very helpful. JMHO!
