Great shot! Straight out of the camera, or have you done any post processing? What equipment do you use, and what were the settings?
Thanks for sharing this great shot.
This shot was taken by a friend of mine who knows nothing about taking pictures. She used a little Canon Elph set on auto. Here are a couple more from the same day.

Are you asking how far north I live or where the photo was taken? I live in Presque Isle, WI which is south of Ashland. The photo was taken in southern Michigan...right across the lake from Milwaukee.
The key to getting adept at PSE, for me, was to keep at it. Don't let big gaps of time intervene between sessions using it or you will have to start from scratch. If you don't have actual photos that need processing, find some books or videos with exercises in them and do, do, do. Most of all, enjoy what is a most fun and wonderful software adventure.
Almost looks like a pastel. I like it.
The texture is scrumptious.
No boredom involved with gazing at a threatensd species that rebounded like the sandhills did. Keep shooting.
At least you didn't do what I did last summer....backed up my RV past a tree with the awning extended! I didn't have the guts to take a picture. Hopefully your insurance will cover the cost of replacement/repair. Mine did. See ya out there on the road.

Hi Howdysmom from Adams County. What camera were you using?--Larry
Hi Larry,
I shot this particular photo with a Canon 60D and a Canon 100-400L IS.
Here it is, May 23 and the temperature is 37 degrees at 10:00 a.m. Note the teeny little leaflets on the tree which is usually fully leafed out at this time of year. This indigo bunting says it all.
Indigo bunting
Just a sampling of the pizazz that's lighting up my woods...
Yellow-rumped warbler
No doubt where this guy gets his name
Black-throated green warbler
Northern parula warbler
Palm warbler
I often make a selection of just the eyes with the quick selection tool and then experiment with levels. Sometimes it's effective, sometimes not.
Funny you should ask. I've been putting off buying one for a long time and finally, in my frustration, just got one yesterday. Sorry I waited so long....it's fantastic.
