Shoot...I switched to 100% mirrorless in 2012...well 98% mirrorless as I still shoot the occasional medium format film.

I'm not too worried about having big fingers that have a hard time with touch screens - you all have assumed that I'm a man, but I'm actually a small-ish woman. Having said that, I'm going to visit a camera store tomorrow that has a loaner program for Olympus cameras. Free use for 4 days, so I'll see if they have any available for this week. I downloaded the owner's manual for the E-M1X last night - it's over 600 pages long!

FYI, the em1 mkiii will be announced tomorrow. That’s the one I’d get if your looking for a smallish body with features from the the em1x, em1ii, and em5iii. To go along with this the 12-100 is a great all around lens. I also really shooting with my 75mm f1.i and 7-14 f2.8.

False news that they’re closing the camera division.

After the rather lame performance of the X vs the 8 (Apple did not really up their game in camera performance in that switch) I would wait until a few more reviews are in before choosing the 11. The 8 is a solid performer and will benefit form OS upgrades. Keep in mind that I am a Pixel user. However, my wife likes the iPhone.

The fact that my Pixel photos have unlimited full resolution backup and can be easily backed up like a normal drive while my wife is constantly struggling with simple access and or outright losing photos in iCloud (where you have to pay for more space), is not an issue being discussed here.

I open Photos with my phone connected...select the images I want and export. Not hard at all.

from there the images get imported into LR and then cataloged...that's a whole other issue, but that's me.

are you saying that a person with an iPhone 8 should experience the changes brought by iOS 13 before upgrading to an iPhone 11?

did you watch the keynote speech? It sure looks like it will.

I have an 8 right now, and it’s a big upgrade from the 5 you have. That said, I’m going to get the 11pro...mostly to replace an aging iPad mini4, but also because I use my phone quite a bit for mobile databases that involve taking 100’s of photos at a site to catalog signage conditions. Often times those images are taken in subpar lit construction areas. The 11pro should excel in those conditions. I also find it helpful to use SnapSeed to edit photos too on my phone, albeit it looks like the 11 pro has better editing capabilities over the 11.

As an option if:
a. weight isn't an issue
b. size isn't an issue
c. you don't mind searching the used market.

Grab an mmf-3 converter for 4/3 lenses
Look for an Olympus 150mm f2
Use an EC-20 to get a 300mm f4 (600mm equiv) lens or an EC-14 to a 210mm f2.8 (420mm equiv).

It's one of my top favorite lenses for any system.

I use the Venus Optics Laowa 7.5mm f2.0 on an Olympus EM-1 MkII for my Milky Way photography and like it very much. I usually shoot at 7.5 and f2.0 with 2000 ISO. It is not a fish eye.

ding...we have a winner here. That's the lens I'd use if I owned it.

An E-M5 plus a 40-150 2.8 will run you 304 for the two weeks, you will probably need and extra week so you are not without so $456. Jumping to an E-M1 will cost another $40 per week. Renting a 12-100 f4 will save 27 bucks, OK for landscape but on a 4/3 camera you can forget isolation in portraits.

At those costs, buy a bridge camera and you get to keep it.

Or go used Bargain Shopping:
or Gx-85 ($320)

If you'd like help designing a custom watermark, I've done quite a few for members here on this site (and others). I'd be happy to provide examples and pricing (more affordable than you probably think).

Docking station is interesting. I am a new Fuji GFX shooter. Quickly outclassed my laptop. Already, bought the wrong laptop and now determined to get the right one with external monitor. Almost there but this spec has been brutal!

Love it...one cable to connect/disconnect...SD card reader right in the front...everything else plugs into the back for a nice clean look (unlike my desk).
