What's going on with Olympus? I paid full price for the brand new M5 Mark III and tax, and shipping, and I was waiting, and with no notice, the Olympus charge disappeared this morning. I did read that their camera profits are down 17%, and they might close that division...????

The Olympus website shows 3 out of 4 of their M5 Mark III kits are backordered. Only the OM-D E-M5 Mark III Black & 14-150mm Lens Kit is listed as "in stock". Maybe they didn't want to process your payment on a backordered item.
OTOH, I've seen charges drop off my accounts on one day, only to reappear as processed a day or two later.

Not enough information. Have you received the camera, how did you pay (credit card charges need a credit issued, can't disappear except by the card company), checked with where you purchased, etc???
And, best I know they are not considering closing the camera division although other areas are being considered, especially some medical. I own their stock, doubled this year, near high.

Has the camera shipped? My experience for any credit card use online is that you will see a pending transaction until the item ships; then it is changed to an "official" charge. Here's what my credit union says about pending:
When a transaction is authorized on your Credit Card, a temporary hold for the amount of the authorization is immediately deducted from your available credit. This temporary hold may not be the same amount as your actual purchase amount (e.g., gas stations often send transactions through for $1.00). The actual purchase amount typically posts within 1 to 3 business days after the purchase was made and the original authorization was obtained.

Go to the website where you bought it and check the order status. It may be cancelled, shipped, or as Linda mentioned, part of the credit process.
That is possibly the best way to get n accurate answer.

I ordered the silver one, and it's not going to be available for a while, so if you check the website, the Black M5 Mark III is all that is available.
