By far, the worst car I ever owned was a '79 Dodge Ramcharger. It was so bad that the dealer told me that he thought it was started on late Friday afternoon and finished on Monday morning.I owned it for 12 months and never got it completely repaired.I was showing it to a prospective buyer and the Hi-beam switch caught fire. I sent a letter to Lee Iacocoa telling him that if the check that I wrote them was as good as the car that I got there would be wanted posters in every Post Office.
It was even worse than the Chevy Vega with no floorboard that I drove one winter in Northern New York State

I've already accomplished most of my Bucket List. I still have to accomplish retiring to a sailboat with my bride, skydiving into my 70th birthday and a short but explicit list of "R" and "X" rated fantasies

By the time I'd gotten in, we were riding frigates instead of DE's, but yep, been through a number of hurricanes as well. In one of them, I had to conn a cruiser broadside to the seas as I brought her around with hard rudder to comb the track for a reputed man overboard from the "bird farm" (Aircraft Carrier for you landlubbers). They later learned he was onboard the whole time, and I had to repeat the maneuver to get back on station. And then, because we'd gotten so far behind, I had to speed the ship up until we were "out of step" with the wave sets, and plunged the bow headlong into a breaking wave. It was the first time in my life I have ever seen green water passing by the storm windows on the bridge of a naval vessel. Makes for GREAT sea-stories though. And my friends wonder why I have no desire whatsoever to go on a long sea cruise .......

Right you are Bob. DEGs were a whole different breed. We raced a Mistral out of Malta.
I remember sitting on the Mess Decks placing bets on how many plates were gonna hit the overhead on the next wave.
I wouldn't do it again if you held a gun to my head, but I wouldn't have missed it for the world

In Clarksdale there is the Point Zero Blues Club- Morgan Freeman is a part owner. Good bar food and usually good entertainment. Nearby is the Blues Museum, well worth a stop and walk thru. The Plantation Homes in Natchez are something to see- some fully restored, some partially(showing the original wallpaper, etc). The town puts on seasonal Pagents too, which reenact historic events.

We were in Clarksdale several years ago. One of the places we found was the SHACK UP INN, just outside of town. If you are going to be there
for a while I suggest that you google it and find out a little bit about it.

We are going to be traveling the Natchez Trace from Nashville to Natchez in three weeks. Are there any particularly photogenic spots that it would be a shame to miss?
We will also be visiting Vicksburg and Clarksdale, the home of Delta Blues.
Thanks in advance

Thanks for all the info. FYI I did clean out the battery compartment myself and Lo and behold, the camera does work. So, for the price of two additional batteries, I'm back into my first love, film photography. Probably not a deal but a new tangent to my hobby for less than a total of twenty dollars isn't bad

Thanks for the info.
I live in Rockingham County (The cultural hub of the Piedmont. No culture there but it's all around us)

I was browsing in a local pawnshop the other day and stumbled across an old analog Nikon EM from the '80s with a 50mm and a 105mm lens for $15.
I grabbed them up mostly as a collectable and took them home. The battery had been left in and the area had corrosion on the contacts but that seems to be the only visible defect.
Is there any one or any place I can send this camera to to have it checked out?
Thanks in advance
