Chuck Daly needs no introduction..."He is an Icon in Sports".

This site is a great place to sit and relax while on "Rails to Trails" near my home town of Punxsutawney, Pa.

Mr. Daly was not just a great coach, but he was also a scratch golfer, and a former "Club Champion" at our local

Country Club. He was often asked to help with local charities, and if he had the time to come here in person he did.

But if he could not, he always sent something special to help out.

He was a very good man...and "Never Forgot His Roots"!

However..., We love out "Ground Hog".

Since I spend a lot of time on my ebike, I pass this site a lot...so on yesterdays ride, I took these pictures and

thought this piece of trivia might be of interest to others.

Just a thought!

[quote=sippyjug104]Whew...!! it is humid today. I will mow the grass this evening if it doesn't rain (I'm doing a rain dance where the Better Half won't see me) and I wanted to get a few shots before I mow these little beauties down.

sippyjug104,

I almost always look at your shots. (Mostly)

I have told many friends about your shots. I refer to you as: "A Master of Macro & Micro Photography"! JMO, but I have not seen any better than you.

As always, these shots reflect your Talent & Expertise.

Thanks for your posts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks,
Boone.

You might try Tri-Flo. It has teflon in it. I've used it on items that include plastic with no problems.

Yesterday's I posted the first photograph taken from my apartment roof. Based on the weather forecast, the New York Mets had postponed their opening day the day before until today. At about 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon, I took the next two photographs, one of which is a four image panogram.

Newsflash: it did not rain.

#2 is my favorite..."But...I love them all"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks,

Alicia2 these are great images. Love them all, but I really like the first one the best. Very well done indeed!

You have a "Good Eye". Love the colors. Reminds me of my days in So. Calif. (1973-1975...when So. Calif. was fun)

Great shots!

PS: You did post in the "Photo Gallery"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks,
Boone.

Thanks for the look, as well as the comments. All good, and I understand your thinking.

However in this shot I "Knew" the client well. In doing the Portrait of Deeder, I "Knew" what he liked. He has seen my work many times. In this case, knowing what he liked is what I did.

What is the most important thing to me (not necessarily what others see) is the eyes and the overall expression of the subject. Portrait Photography to me is: Capturing the "Character" of the subject. In the case of Deeder, I was very happy that I was able to do this. All the many people that "Know Deeder", and have seen the finished image, reflected that to me. (all siad: You captured the "Real Deeder"!!!) That was what I set out to do.

As to the light in the photo: I agree...take it or leave it. Simply a matter of choice. (and I don't always agree with the client, buy hey, if that's what they like)

As to the frame colors: I love Black or White. I love B&W's in a Black Frame. But that's me. I really do like different colors. Either way...again, ever Portrait is different.

I do Thank You for your comments and the kind words!

Thanks,
Boone.

There is a quality in this image that says you have a lot invested in it. You can see the time and mileage both of you have invested in your friendship. Lucky you!

Yes...he's a good old boy from Pa. and I am very proud and honored to say: "He's My Friend"!

Thanks,

What a wonderful portrait. Thank you for posting, and especially for the back story on your friend. What a great privilege to have a friend like that.

Thank you for the complement, and yes I'm very lucky to have a friend like "Old Man Deeder"! LOL Because "He Almost Always calls me The Old Man".

One of the better portraits I have seen on Ugly Hedgehog.

Thank you for the complement!
I try to keep the subject as "Natural as possible"...(Meaning that I do as little PP as possible to maintain originality)
and to bring out the "Character" in the subject. I posted this to see if others here might see what I was reaching for, "And So Many Did"! I was somewhat shocked to see that so many other UHH'ers could see what I saw.

And I was elated that so many liked it. Now, I know he will like it!

Thanks,
Boone.

I'm not a portrait photographer, but I think it's great.

Glad you liked it! Everyone sees an image differently, some will like it & some will not. However...as long as "Deeder" likes it, I guess that is what really matters.

He's a good friend...so I hope he will see the image in a favorable light. (No pun here)

Thanks for your time, and time is something I take very seriously! I Thank You!

Thanks,
Boone.

Great pose and lighting. I like it a lot. Ihmo cloning out the spot of light on your left corner would make it better. To me it is distracting.

Thank you for the look and your comment as well. I was thinking at the time I was working with the RAW file, that Deeder likes this type of thing. (Light you refer to) As for me I can take it either way. It was just something I did at the time. However...all is to one liking, and so "It is what it is"!

Thanks for the look. Much appreciated as well!

Thanks,
Boone.
