Do you still have the lens and what is your contact Phone #?
Pappy - I have PM'd you. Thanks!

Your butterfly in-flight is a male Monarch;
your second image is a female Monarch;
your third photo is snapdragon flowers.
I like the near monochromatic look of your dragonfly.
Tom DePuy's photo is of a Gulf Fritillary.
Thanks for the identification Nikonian! I knew they were Monarchs but did not realize one was male and one was female - interesting!

Is the dragon fly captured with natural lighting, Belle? I really like that image! I think I'm going to make it my "Desktop Background of the Month".....with your permission. Matted and framed with a black matting.......a special image.
Ha! Special, but I didn't have to post it twice! Sorry.....it's Friday night.....long week.
Dave - yes, natural lighting. All I did was crop and sharpen. Please feel free to use as your desktop image!
Thanks everyone! I told my husband i "need" a macro lens now. LOL. He just shook his head and laughed. :-)
I usually do only portraiture, but decided recently to expand my horizons a bit. I spent a few hours at a nearby garden trying to get some butterfly shots - I can see how it would be addiciting!
The flowers, the birds, the butterflies; I am thinking I may have to go back and try again!
Anyway, here are a few, thanks for looking!

Not the sharpest focus, but loved the "in flight" look
I think this one looks like stained glass
Not sure what this flower is, but LOVED the colors
Found a dragonfly too...
Love this lens but just don't use the focal length enough. I got it for Christmas last year, and it was purchased in December of 2011.
Lens, original box, tulip hood, lens cover and back cover included.
They sell new for about 470.00, can find them used on ebay for 380.00, selling minde for 350.00, shipping included.
PayPal, M/C, Visa, American Express or Discover accepted.
Please PM me if interested, thanks for looking.

I agree it's been a short summer with lots of rain and wind here in NY. Great photo, it looks delicious.

The picture looks as crisp as I bet that apple tastes!
No fall here. Temps in the 90's today.
Thanks Swamp Gator! Trying to expand my photographic horizons, I usually shoot portraiture only. It's been fun looking through the lens at different things. (Much easier to pose an apple then a High School Senior, by the way)
Temps are getting down in the 50-60 degree range at nights, but it's still pretty humid and in the 80's during the day. Love the Maine weather....

That apple sure looks tasty.
colo43 - I confess that after I took this shot, I picked the apple and munched away. It was VERY tasty!

I thought the sure sign of approaching fall was the back to school sales.
Nice photo of a soon to be delicious snack
Hey emrob62 - yes, back to school sales, trips to the Mall, Pumpkinhead beer and crisp Maine apples... :D
Went for a walk this past weekend and saw the apple trees bearing beautiful fruit. That is a sure sign of fall approaching here in Maine...although it is my favorite season of the year, I don't think summer was long enough.

Thinking about purchasing a lens for my arsenal. (I really don't have an arsenal...) A Canon EF 85MM F/1.8 The price is around my budget, which is about $375.00. I would love a L lens, however that is definatley out of my budget. I'm just looking for a nice, sharp lens around that price range. I shoot various things, portraits, lanscapes, and nature, (waterfalls, cricks, and streams.) Mainly I just shoot the family though. I guess I just want to know if anyone has one of these lenses, and is it a pretty decent one...? I own a Canon T3i, I actually just got it, since my other Camera was scrapped by Canon and they gave me this upgrade. Very cool of them to do that!!!! Any other suggestions on a differant lens are welcome.

I have a T3I and use that lens for all my portrait work. It is outstanding and I love the images I get with it. Also, it helps me stay back a little from the person I am photographing and makes them more at ease since I am not right up in their face during out shoot. They are always amazed when they see their pictures how "close" they are - I almost always hear "Wow, I thought I was going to look much further away!".
Anyway, I would highly recommend the lens. I hope you don't mind me posting a pic on your thread, but I wanted to show you what my T3i and Canon 85mm get me for images.
Good luck with your decision!
