Remoman, some of what you mention I'm sure is correct, but I believe even more at fault than anything else is our poor teacher selection. THEY don't have to pass updated tests to keep their job. Some are there since the school was first built and just getting by 'teaching'. I feel if our students are not learning as you and I believe they should be that possibly we are teaching the wrong stuff - or just passing them to the next higher grade to keep them moving... but into what kind of world?
Hi Claret.. yes, I recommend you narrow it down a bit to your subject :) Sorry, just had to do that. What is it you're inquiring about?
Hi Rodd,
It seems to be a pretty consistent price lately on that camera. My daughter bought it about a month ago for same amount and is very happy with it. Depending on which camera you're moving from, there is a pretty good 'learning curve' to consider, but it's capabilities (for that price) are terrific in my opinion. It also has a nice 'feel',but then I've only heard from MY hands :P
Staciee, Tiger Direct has a pretty fair price on the D3100 over the Veteran's Day weekend. My daughter uses this camera and does some pretty great work with it. Check it out at:

Monte, if you have Photoshop Elements, this video tutorial makes it fairly simple. Good Luck,

rrozy, check out this link. You'll love how clearly this person instructs you to create a (reusable) watermark for your photos in elements. Good Luck,

You're right Jamitjim, but I guess I'm an eternal optimist. I keep hoping.....
I'll try that Mtnman, thanks for your input.
A wise observation, Dirtpusher! I agree.
Kit Lens, I really don't believe you are as uninformed as you like to sound. Possibly a year or two of 'higher education'... just enough to make one 'feel' wise. Living life is what makes one wise. Serving in the military helps too. Working to earn your living is also a great help. But most of all, (in my opinion), knowing the Word... Bible prophesy is the greatest teacher. What we see happening now is simply that Word coming to life. Check it out. What side will we choose... not democrat or republican... the Lord's side would be the wiser choice.
I have no doubt, when the freebies are offered, you will be in the forefront with your hand out, but don't feel bad about that... this generation has been 'conditioned' to accept that life as normal. That is what has degraded our nation to its present state. I realize, you enjoy 'stirring the coals' here to get action going. How I wish instead you cared as much for keeping our nation in proper order and handing down a better legacy to those younger than you who will inherit this mess. You are in my prayers.

Cragzop, that short video tells the long story... good one! It will take some time but (I hope) eventually enough might wake-up and learn the more the gov 'gives' us, the less capable and self-supporting we become. Then soon, we have NO choice! I hope they wake-up, but If not, it's as you say, those folks deserve what they've chosen.
Joe, a site I've learned a lot from, especially about layers is:

The video tutorials are especially great, as they begin from the beginning and work up. Give it a try.
Nice job wrei... improved already fine shots.
Very nice shot Windshoppe.
Just my opinion, I like it 'as is'. Maybe a tad darker on the blue sky but I like the rest just the way you have it.
Hmm, thanks... it assures me there is still hope for me :)
Many years ago we made very close friends with a couple in Stratford-upon-Avon but only via 'PowWow', a now extinct chat program. We remained friends for over ten years but never met face to face. They are both deceased now but what memories. England seems to have so many beautiful photo areas.
