Sounds like you're in the ballpark. Good luck, hope you sell it fast so you can move on to new toys!

I love it! I've been shooting Bald Eagles for years and never yet quite captured the fully extended wings, everything sharp photo yet. I'm seriously jealous, excellent shot.

LaughBrian is dead on with this one in his comments about Ebay. When doing a price comparison always go to the left side of the listings page and check the "Completed" box to see what price people got for items that actually sold. It is a great tool in that regard. What people are asking for items (cameras, lens and other equipment) often is quite high and often do not sell so to compare your item to that item is often a false comparison. Always compare to sold items. If you have never checked the "Completed" box you are missing the boat as to what realistic prices items are going for. novots

Holy smokes, that is amazing. I assumed that the flying person was all done in studio, and to think they had them jump off that cliff numerous times. Thanks for the link.

I also have purchased numerous items from China, both big and small, with no problems. In many cases the items are exactly the same as sold at any domestic retailer. Mulachabu mentioned history and rating of seller. I also use this as a strong indicator as to whether I would purchase something from any Ebay seller. I have relatively high standards. Seller must have sold 100's of items and have a rating of at least 98%, but usually I stick with 99 or 100% only. I also then review the history looking for those that have bought a similar item to what I'm looking at. The same standard applies to local, domestic or foreign purchases. Do the research, avoid - 'to good to be true' - prices, and good luck with your new gear!

Your ISO setting can become very important if you need a fast shutter speed in lower light situations. If you need a high shutter speed to stop moving/action shot but the available light limits the shutter speed to less than the focal length (shutter speed 100, focal length 200 or 300) you will get a blurry shot. With the new mid to higher end DSLR's out there now you can push the ISO to 5 or 6000 which will allow the faster shutter and get completely usable images, with only moderate noise, and if printing smaller prints, noise that is practically unnoticeable. Can you get a little noise, yes, but is the picture worth a little noise, and are you likely to be submitting it for the cover of National Geographic? Now days, a good lens, good camera, high ISO, good noise reduction in camera and via software, pretty much allows you to shoot in the dark. JMHO. novots.

I have shot tons of sports and there is no comparison between the 40D and the 7D, speed, focus quickness/accuracy etc...so for sports shooters, unless you can step into an upper crust 1D series body, the 7D is a fabulous camera, especially when matched with a 70-200 2.8!
