I know the main differences between the two. Is it better to grow into 7 or really stretch self and go for mark2. This is the last upgrade I will make so want to make the right choice. Like the speed on 7, but is full frame really better. I have a 40D now.
Thoughts? I do know a few of my lens I will not be able to use on M2 . is the 28-135 a full frame ? It is only the s lens that will not wk, right? Thanks for one more question about "WHICH?"

I have the 7D now and I upgraded from the 40D. I kind of had to because I had almost 100,000 activations on the shutter and I couldn't afford for it to die "on the job". I shoot a variety of subjects including competitive dance numbers. These are all about timing and good focus so the 7D works for me.
The easy way to know if your lenses will work with a full frame - all EFS lenses have a red dot and a white square on them. EF lenses only have the red dot.
EFS lenses won't work on a full frame camera so any of your lenses with the white square will not work if you upgrade to the 5D II.
Hope that helps.

I have a 40D and do mostly sports photography. I prefer the frame rate from the 7D to that of the 5D mk ii. Plus, the 7D is a sealed body. That appeals to me too.
My current goal is to get a 7D within the next 12 months.

What do you mean by a sealed body vs Mark2?

I need to read this in detail. I found out about it being sealed from a friend of mine that let me use his 7D for a weekend.

Get the 5d MKIII if you want the best of both worlds it is more expensive but worth the money. The 7d is a great camera but it doesn't do as well in low light as the 5d and that is one of the advantages of the full frame sensor it is better in low light. The 7d is a very rugged camera and can take a lot punishment and keep right on shooting. I like my 7d a lot it does a wonderful job but for low light situations and landscapes I prefer my 5d MKII. I am giving serious thought to trading them both in and just getting the 5d MKIII. The focusing on the 7d is hands down better then the 5d MKII. If you are worried about your glass and don't want to upgrade it then stay with the 7d you will still be very happy with that camera.

I have a 50D and moved up to a 5D MK III. WOW! What a fantastic camera and it shoots video that I haven't even explored yet. This is one great camera body that you should really consider!

I agree with Gary. I recently upgraded from the T3i. Before buying a camera, I did a lot of research on what would be best for me. I shoot mostly wildlife so the 7D was more recommended for that purpose.
