Just discovered FedEx Office with Sony Picture Station kiosks. DIY, but I can fine tune (and see more or less what it will look like). Prices are reasonable. Dye sub holds promise for durability. And I don't print enough to justify a home photo printer.

I can't recall a Harbor as busy as the one in Victoria. Seaplanes, the little water taxis, ferry, etc.

Shoot some test shots with tripod - let you eliminate the camera as the source of the problem.

We watch them at Egg Rock on a cruise from Port Clyde on the St. George Peninsula in Maine. They are incredibly fast, straight fliers, but their water landings seem to be a barely controlled crash. Still trying to get a good shot of one in flight.

You can check out peak performance back packs. It will be my next carry-on solution.

I built a computer last Nocember based on an Asus Z170-A motherboard. Lately, it could take half a dozen attempts to get it to boot into Windows 10. Sometimes it starts right up, and sometimes I have to hit the reset button several times.

Asus support told me to get the latest Windows and Asus updates. That didn't make any difference, so they told me to send it to them for repair or wait till they have some in stock, and they will send me one, and I can do a swap.

I find it hard to believe that a defect in the board would cause this problem. Any ideas?

Since you rolled your own, I assume you've tried all of the following, but just in case ...

Assuming you're getting power (indicator lights on board) memory is a possible culprit. Can you tell from POST messages where boot is hanging up? If it's in the memory self test you can reseat DIMM(s). If that doesn't work and you have multiple DIMM you could try removing them one at a time.

Another possibility is a bad peripheral - DVD drive, USB device, USB port connector. I have had a bad drive and a bad keyboard hang up a boot in what appeared to be a mystery. (I also had a book pressing a key do the same kind of thing.). Disconnect as much as possible. If problem resolves, reconnect one by one.

Side note. In the past few years a few gannets have made their way to the Pacific and California. Speculation is that they came through "the now open Northwest passage".

Great shots. We have the endangered salt marsh harvest mouse here (San Francisco Bay). Still hoping to see one.

I've enjoyed my http://store.lowepro.com/toploader-pro-75-aw-ii. I shoot wildlife so relatively quick access is important - with little or no noise - so zipper and Velcro closures are not good options. I wanted a sling bag to distribute the weight.

I'm not comfortable carrying my camera exposed on a sling, so I wanted a bag that closed with a quick release buckle and that could hold my Canon 7D with a 100-400 zoom attached. The toploader pro also has attachment points that let me carry my Canon 17-40. The 100-400 nests in its hood. Batteries, filters, and CF cards fit in the the various pouches.

When I bought the bag, I was able to bring my kit into a camera store (now closed) with a large floor stock of bags and find the best fit.

Google Photos does have some rudimentary editing functions. On iPad, open the photo, click on the pen icon, and click on the sliders icon.

Canon 7d (original). I've started using auto exposure with center point to expose for moving subject, then press exposure lock. The lock button is next to the button I use for BBF. I can adjust the exposure with the wheel.

I format only in the camera. I only have one camera that I carry, but if I carried two I would format the card in the camera in which it would be used.

Check out "duckumentary". Wood ducks not geese, but the same issue with a big first step leaving the nest.
