RichardE, Hope this will help you. I've just been changing my over head kitchen lights from incandescent to LEDs and I found that I could buy similar bulbs having the same lumens (like wattage) but having different Kelvin ratings. Therefore I had to try different bulbs until my wife got the 'brightness' she liked. 3300 K was too 'warm or yellow' and 6500 K was too 'bright or white' for her to like it. We settled on 4500 K as a happy medium. Still too white for me as I liked the warmth feeling of the light given off by incandescent bulbs.
I've used Costco many times to refill ink cartridges for my HP printer. Costco does an excellent job but I find the following problems with using refilled cartridges: A: HP printers do not want to recognize refilled cartridges when they are first inserted. To solve this problem, many times you have to go to a web site (Costco will give you the address) and look up what code to put into the printer to enable it to recognize the refilled cartridges. B: If you refill cartridges make sure you wait until you need a new one as the refilled ones won't last sitting in the drawer, not being used, for more than 4-6 weeks because they are not sealed as well as new cartridge. C: My experience is to only figure on one refill per cartridge as after that it seems to me to be labor intensive to make the refilled ones work. I buy new ones then. D: Because Costco charges 10.00 per/refill I save 20-30.00 over the price of buying new each time.
Love the shots of the deer. They seem to enjoy your place.
I just laid 500 square feet of sod and found out the deer don't chew off the grass, they pull out what they intend to eat. Man, did they do a job of tearing up the lawn until I put some electric fence up. Funny thing, they don't seem to tear up the native grasses.
Having move to Oregon from TX I can agree with you as many 'CA' staters and Canadians have moved to Texas and have increased the population so much it reminds me of Phoenix and Las Vegas withs many new people causing changes from what a state used to be.
Your right sb, There were many articles this spring about the Monarchs not doing so well because many people are/were pulling up the 'trash' plant (milkweed) they feed on. Well, that caused many people, us included, to leave the milkweed alone instead of pulling it out here in southern Oregon and now we are seeing many more Monarchs. Hopefully this will continue.
I also backup manually. Time machine gives me a heads up note that I haven't backed up for X days, normally about 10 days. I don't make that many changes so thats a good interval for me.
I have a Seagate solid state backup drive and it seems to be bulletproof. No problems in the year since I bought it on newegg. I think eBay now has the best prices.
What a Heart-tugging commercial! I will pass it on to all my friends. You made my day buckbrush :D :D :D :D :D      John
Hey Appleknocker; I had the donor block checked on my drivers license for decades but stopped it at last renewal. Don't know why. After seeing this video ( it really affected me), I realize it may make someones life better so I'll be adding the check mark, never to take it off.
If I understand the background on this mine, it was supposedly closed back in 1923. It looks like the EPA took on this job needlessly. Must be way better things to clean up that are actively hurting the environment. Not something that was sitting undisturbed and not causing a problem since 1923.
Blackest, Good example. If you or I had the opportunity to show each of the three photos to the Bridesmaids I, ( personal opinion) would bet they would say, The first picture shows what happened to us when we walked thru the door. The second and third picture are not what we experienced. In my mind PP didn't and wouldn't help their memory of that wedding. Isn't that the intention of people photography, showing others what you or they experienced??
Shouldn't have said anything to detract from such a starkly beautiful video. Just seeing that BIG MOTHER coming into refuel is awe inspiring. Then to see the engineering that went into developing that refueling receptacle, words can't hardly describe what great engineering went into that bird.
