Exactly, and the review was great... it answered all of my questions. I can see a lot of advantages to having this light on outside locaton shoots. Easier control than flash and quite portable.
Thanks for your help
Anyone have any experience with the ICE LIGHT? I see a possibilty as a secondary light and it is portable and rechargeable. Looking for some other aplcations. Thanks to all
Oh, by the way... thanks to all of you for your service

You folks have never let me down... and now I need some real advice.
I have a wireless remote -Studio RP and also another one without any name or model that is geared to fire shutter and flash at the same time. They work well...when they work. After I've set up and focused on the area of my subject I shoot from a distance of approx 5 to 15 feet. Sometimes I'll get NO shutter activation and I go back to the camera and check the plug into the camera. I shoot with a Canon 5DmkII. Nothing has caused the plug to come loose.... nothing even brushed the camera but no activation. Any advice?
And whlle we're at it... with a cord release I can press halfway down and get auto focus but on my wireles it doesn;t seem to work that way.. More advice please.
Thanks
Don,
Thanks... pretty much what I figured since I saw little or no differemce in the histogram. I will use it sparingly. Thanks again
I shoot in RAW all of the time and I have a question about processing in PSE9.Most of the slides are self explanatory and I can see any differences by looking at the histogram. I have learned (from books etc;) that Clarity can be moved all the way to the right but I can't find any instructions about Contrast and I don't see much results in the histogram. I did find a reference once in UHH that a user moved it to 18 but no reason why. Please help,,,thnx
I am doing some self portrait work. I use a mannequin head to pre-focus and in the past it worked out fairly well Today was a disaster. I use an elecronic remote to fire the shot after I think I have focused correctly. Not so today. My question is... knowing that holding the buton halfway down on my Canon 5D MkII in autofocus will give me a good shot. I also use that routine with a cable release with great results. My question... with an elecronic remote there doesn't seem to be a "halfway down" It fires immediately.... anyone have any advice
Thanks
Don
North of Cambria is an elephant seal beach... they might be coming in at that time. Stop in Harmony and ask for Arika... tell her your a friend of mine.See Stillwell Hall at Fort Ord (now a college.) See the famous tree on 17 mile Drive. Be prepared for a whole bunch of photo ops.
and post some shots when you return.
I just subscribed...but how can it be free... there is NO free lunch
OR... you can save a lot of money just by looking at the ads in the paper or magazines for female models. Rip the out or scan them and show them to her. Ask that she not duplicate them... that'll scare her away... but do HER version of the pose.
a while back I had a question abut usng Model Mayhem and several people came forward and gave me some really great advice. Now I'm back again with a new problem. I'm a member and I tried browsing the female models a few times. Saw some that lived nearby and offered a paid or PFCD. My MM number is included and in a few I also gave my E-mail address but no response yet. Am I doing something wrong?
I could be wrong but I think I recall reading in the iStock manual that the Eiffel is copyrighted. Selling this would be risky. Great BW shot
