I usually top up my batteries before going out. So I always remove my batteries when not using my cameras. Why not? I once left my batteries in my camera while traveling and found my camera settings were all screwed up and it triggered a few hundred exposures while in transit.

Never allow your dress to hamper your credibility or work. So as a photographer it depends on your gig. Wildlife photos would mean you need to dress for the weather and terrain. Weddings may need a suit, parties depends on what they be guests may wear (don’t over or under dress). Black long sleeve tees or collared shirts with black pants usually works almost anywhere.
I second that comment to use your second card as backup. If you have a camera with capacity for two cards, keep both loaded. I have a 64 GB SD card and a 64 GB CF card. I generally can shoot several hours but a keep another SD card in my wallet, just in case, also an extra battery in my pocket.
I set my camera to not operate if card is missing so I can avoid that mistake.
Use what works for you and the situation. Folks that are locked into manual only will miss shots. Folks locked into anything only will miss or mess up shots. Folks who use all of the different features will also miss or mess up shots. That’s why it’s fun and the chase goes on for that shot that we actually wanted and got.
Mine is by Mitsubishi and they still support it with consumable products. It also can print both glossy or matte with the same paper.
I’m 5’5” tall and I bought a set of CF legs from Desmond (brand) from Amazon for $200. The specs are comparable to Really Right Stuff without the price tag. As these are legs only that also has the mk pod feature, with or without center pole, you can choose the type of head you’d want. Can be used with1/4” or 3/8” mount screw, very adaptable. It’s a tall set of legs and I don’t use it at full extension. Twisties lock 1/4 turn and you can unlock all three simultaneously with one hand on each leg.
I’ve rebuilt engines, clocks and many intricate gadgets but will not touch taking a lens apart. They’re too delicate and precise to be fooled without a competent technician and a clean room. Can you recall anytime when you tried to fix the plumbing only to have something go wrong? Could happen when you pull your lens apart and then what are you going to do? Send it in to a certified shop or manufacturer if you value that lens.
I have tried using ink jets but unless you use it frequently, the ink dries in the head and stops working properly. Color lasers are expensive initially especially one that is photo quality. Dye-sub printers are really great because they can sit for years and then produce a high quality print. But they tend to be expensive and more if bigger format is desired. I inherited one that prints 8x11s and I keep my exhibit of bird photos rotating on a monthly basis. I will not buy another photo printer as mentioned above, just not practical or economical unless you do enough volume and get paid for your prints.
I always use one and I think the vast majority of the responders think so as well. I carry two zooms, 100-400, 18-150, plus a TC, two bodies and some other accessories. I taken as many as 4 lenses and found I don’t use half of them so space has not been an issue.
Turning IS off on tripod AND hand held action? When do you use IS at all? I leave it on all the time. I need every tool working to eliminate the camera shake or movement. I shoot Canon and I concur with the earlier post that it does not harm the quality of the photo or lens to leave it on.
There are two types of insurance. One is the warranty that guards against equipment failure to function. The other is security for theft, loss, dumb stuff, etc. they often have some overlap. I have both Square trade and State Farm.
I’d keep the charger (at least one) in my carry on pack just so if the lose the luggage you won’t need to buy one to keep on shooting.
I leave it in 3 but I’ll be experimenting from all of the observations in this blog.
