Thank you. I’ve used this before. It is a lengthy process, but it seems to identify duplicates, before freezing. Your post prompted me to look at the Apple Store and saw that there is an update. Maybe they fixed the bug. I downloaded the update and will try again. I will report my outcome.
Over the years, duplicates have been added to my I-photo library. I have 20K images, of which about 20% may be duplicates. Recently, I accidentally downloaded about 400 images, using my IPAD card reader, because I did not notice that all of the pictures were checked, rather than just the ten, or so, that I wanted. I have tried some of the apps, but have not succeeded. The app goes through my photos, identifying duplicates, and at the end, it freezes. Any suggestions?

My daughter has a new A7ii Sony Camera. She is just getting into photography. She wants to do editing, but does not like the monthly subscription idea. She is looking at Luminar 4, which is on sale currently. Any suggestions, pro or con?
I use the PlayMemories App from Sony to transfer files wirelessly. It works and it’s easy to use, but it seems to only transfer files as JPEGS. To transfer RAW files, I use the card reader with lighting connector, easy as pie.
Check out Natural Habitat Adventures. We did a 10-day photo safari in Botswana with them. The guides knew the territory and photography. I also learned a lot from the real photographers in the tour, long lenses and all. We spent a long time at each spot, allowing plenty of time for taking pictures. Each seat was equipped with bean bags and other photo paraphernalia. Not cheap, but good.
Just a thought. I was in Paris, taking photos on a night cruise of the Seine and as I took the photos,I reviewed them and they were fuzzy. My settings were correct, in my opinion. The photos should have been fine. It finally dawned on me that my lens was foggy. I wiped it clean, and, as they sayin Paris, voila!
The Sony24-240, when set to Clear Image Zoom will get you 480. It is my walk about lense, albeit a bit heavy. It is a fairly sharp lense.
My a6000 came with a 16-50 kit lense and a 55-210 kit lens. Both were ok, but I had to keep switching lenses which resulted in dust on my sensor, no matter how much I tried to keep the sensor from being exposed, while switching lenses. So, I purchased a Sony 24-240 full frame lens, which produces very high quality pictures, though it is a bit heavy. With the zoom capability of the camera, and the crop factor, i have all the zoom I need.
I love mine. Versatile and effective. Three observations: 1. Battery life is an issue. 2. It takes some effort to learn the intricacies of the camera’s operation. 3. You have to be very careful, when changing lenses, because the sensor is exposed whenever you remove the lens and dust gets in. Other than that, great picture quality, great zoom capabilities (clear image zoom), and light weight.
Thanks for all the feedback. I will post an unedited image as soon as I have access to my lap top, because my image transfer program (Canon Image Transfer) shrinks the files on my IPAD and I am out of the Country right now.
I am experiencing blown out skies when I take photographs under gray sky situations. Blue skies are fine and skies with defined cloud patterns also come out ok. The problem is only with uniform gray skies. I have seen advice, suggesting a graduated filter, but I wonder if there is a way to address the problem in settings.
Have you used your a6000 Clear Image Zoom capabilities? You can double your lens range via this tool. It may be better than a teleconverter
This discussion is amusing. And the question was?
