I put the MC in a "reader" I think it is called, then plugged the reader into another USB port on my computer and downloaded it like that. A circuitous route but I can view the images now.

I'll give that a try. I put a brand new MC in the computer but the computer didn't read it, but I didn't format that new MC either, but thanks for the suggestion. I'll give that a try. I would never waste spirits on an MC card. I'm not that desperate. LOL

I've put the MC in and out quite a few times but I'll try that as well. thnks. MM

I tried shutting the PC down earlier, but I'll try that again. And I do have a laptop but that takes some sort of MC adapter but I'll put the MC in the adapter then in the laptop and see what happens.

I have tried older MC's and they didn't work either.

I haven't tried any other cards I only do the camera MC.

I'm not sure where to post this so I guess admin. will put it where it belongs. Last month, out of the blue, my Dell SSD computer would not/could not display my MC when I put it in the slot to download images I took with my D7200. I've been doing this for years with no issues and when I tried to import these new images, using Microsoft Photos like I always do, it wouldn't display my Nikon D7200 prompt to start the import procedure. It still shows my Toshiba ext. drive like it always did but not the Nikon D7200 prompt. Also, when I use the slideshow feature the photos seem to have been enlarged so that a lot of my heads and feet are cut off. (I know questionable syntax.) I think MS did some kind of update last month which is the source of my hassle. I called a computer geek friend, and he suggested a 7 or 8-step procedure which is really labor-intensive. I recently took some shots with my iPhone 12 and he advised me to get a USB-C cable, which I did, and the computer recognized this I Phone immediately but not the Nikon MC. I'm seeking help for this issue. I don't know what to do. I'm pretty much computer illiterate so if you have any suggestions, please keep it simple. I downloaded Photos Legacy but that didn't resolve my problem. TIA, MM
