What is a good reasonably priced walk around zoom lens for a D750? I do mostly street photography with some landscape.

Photography for most of us is a hobby. Hobbies are supposed to be fun. That fun includes buying new equipment. The original poster wants to buy a new camera. Let's get back on his topic and help him have some fun.

I upgraded from a D3400 to a D7200. I'm really happy I did.

Make sure everything is weather sealed. The dust is terrible. Don't take too much equipment. You won't use it all and it's a drag to drag around. Have a great time. It's a wonderful experience.

I'm interested in getting a great walk around lens for a Sony a6000. I'll be using it in urban settings. I'd like it to be a zoom. Any suggestions?

Dust can be a problem for your camera, not just your lenses, depending on where you go. I was in Kenya a couple of years ago and nearly lost my D3400 to dust. It was unresponsive at times. At a minimum, keep the camera covered with a cloth when not shooting. I just got back from Zambia. I took a D7200, which is weather sealed. I had no problems.

Hi all, will be visiting Charleston SC for a couple of days next week. Any suggestions on top sites/subjects to photography. Thanks.

Visit Middleton Place Plantation. Beautiful gardens with lots of alligators and beautiful birds.

Yeah. I took it on safari in Africa. I couldn't be happier with it. The size and weight are real pluses as well.

I've been a member for about a year and have learned quite a lot. My query: I use a Nikon7200 and have a variety of Nikon lenses. My walk about is the 28-300mm 3.5/5.6, which I like but I want more "reach." I see for about the same price as a Nikon 200-500mm lens, Tamron and Sigma offer longer lenses (400-600mm on the upper end ) but I'll need to buy a "tap-in and/or a console" to fine tune the focus? I'm not even sure what those nouns are and if I have to go deep into the menu to "fine tune" anything, I'm pretty sure that operation would be beyond my capabilities. Not interested in YT. Will I need to buy either of these 2 components to get sharp, automatically focused captures with the T.'s or S'.s, or should I stick with the Nikon 200-500mm. Thanking you in advance. MM

I have a Tamron 100-400 and love it. No fine tuning was required.

I have the lens and use it on a D7200. It's great and weight really isn't an issue.

You might want to get a weather sealed camera like a D7200. I nearly lost a D3400 to dust when I was in Kenya last year.

Whatever camera you take make sure it is weather sealed. I took a Nikon D3400 to Kenya a couple of years ago and nearly lost it to the dust. I'm going back next year with a D7200.

I too have a D7200 and I just picked up the Tamron 100-400mm for a safari I'll be taking next year. I am very happy with the lens. Not too big, not too heavy, and very sharp. I went last year with a 70-300mm and came home with some great pictures. Have fun on your trip.

I went on safari last year and took too much equipment. It was a real drag lugging it around. I'm going back next year and will be taking a Tamron 100-400mm and Nikon 18-140mm for my D7200. Last time the longest lens I took was a 70-300mm and was quite happy with my photos. This time I want to take something with just a little more reach. Have fun. It's a wonderful experience.

Regrettably, the Coolpix isn't weatherproof. I nearly lost a camera to dust the last time I was in Africa. It's the reason I picked up the D7200.
