This doesnt have anything to do with the technical aspects of photography.......it just isnt a very intetesting picture. Weve all done it....what seems good at the time sometimes just doesnt work as a photograph....just keep experimenting...and yes...the rule of thirds is always a good place to start

I got rid of my d810 and various lenses over 4 years ago and got the rx10m4......best photographic decision ive made. No more lugging heavy lenses around or changing them for that matter. I got the iphone 13 last year and use it in lower light conditions..or anytime I dont want to carry the sony about..its exceptional. The only thing that cellphones are no good for is long range zooming.....and the way things are going theyll probably solve that problem in the future too

Typical internet comments.....if you want more brightness....turn up the brightness setting
If you dont want burn out...dont leave the news channels on all day without refreshing the screen

I have the iphone 13 max. I previously had the P30 pro which I found sharpened photos to much for my liking. If your the type who takes most of your photos in the 24-70 range it really does produce fantastic quality. It also has the benefit of an excellent wide angle as well. If you dont blow up your photos for large prints youl notice no difference between the iphone and a top quality DSLR and lens set up. Its really superb in low light and has the best panorama funtion Ive ever used. The downside is the size of the photos you end up with...mine avarage out at about 6 mbs...which is still fine for normal prints. The camera itself is pretty much point and shoot. If you want to take control of shutter speed youd have to buy the pro camera app or something similar which isnt very expensive. Its more or less replaced my rx100m3 entirely....If I want more options to zoom I usethe rx10m4. For me its a great set up.

I sometimes think this reoccuring post is made just to brag about how many lenses the poster owns

Why wouldn’t you take the rx100 anyway. It’s so small you wouldnt even notice it if it was in a jacket pocket

After you take a photo ,there are 2 choices.Either leave it alone or try and improve it. I choose the latter but plenty would disagree...either because they cant be bothered, theyre too busy, or they dont have confidence in getting to grips with modern software. Its a personal choice.
What winds me up are the ones who say....theres a new model out which will take 24 frames per second as opposed to the 10 frames per second Im stuck with now. I need to get it.
If you cant get a bird in flight at 5 frames per second...you need to get another hobby.

I bought the z50 with the 16-50 kit lens recently and took it to the canary islands leaving my rx10m4 at home. I wanted to see how it performed in low light. I can tell you that its brilliant in low light. However I sold it when I returned because I knew id never use it. The kit lens isnt long enough for the type of stuff I shoot and the thought of having to change lenses to get any reach was a complete no no.Ive had the rx10m4 for 4 years after having tried loads of dslrs with top lenses and have never felt the need to even think about changing it. Its also pretty decent in low light as well.
